Hi all,

Who among you is truly content with steady improvement?

I ask this because the more improvements I make the less satisfied I seem to be with where I am. I don't get it. How do I become content with improvement?

I'm mostly content with my improvements, but I do get frustrated when I have setbacks. I'm learning to forgive those setbacks though as they are mostly bipolar related now and largely beyond my realm of control. I think the ability to "forgive" those setbacks, learn from them, and move forward is important. I have to remind myself of the many years I stayed stuck or even moved backwards and give myself credit due for finally and fairly consistently moving forward now.

Maybe its like the more you learn, the more you realize there is that you dont know. Either youre depressed and going nowhere, or youre not depressed and -- then what? You cant let the world determine your personal pace. Thats why they say to run your own race, strive for your personal best. I struggle with this.

It's just so frustrating not being able to be okay with improvement. I guess maybe it will get better with time. It's just every time I make excellent progress it seems I always seem to find more excellent progress to make. I feel like a dog chasing it's tail...never satisfied.
