My T is a PhD psychologist and is wonderful. She specializes in like every single form of talk therapy including DBT which I am in. She is also my DBT group leader along with a PhD student. I also see a psychiatrist like once a month for medication stuff.

I've seen a number of different types of therapists over the years. My favourite therapist that I've had is a counselling psychologist. My current therapist is an MMFT.

My last one was an LMFT. In my younger days I would only see a Ivy League educated Psychiatrist. I called one a jerk in session, and she told me that she could not allow name calling and if I did it again — TERMINATION! I called her a jerk the next week, and off she sent me. I look back at the termination having been one of the better things that happened in my life. Then I went to Jungian PhD's. Nice enough , but I did not progress, and swore of therapy for ~15 years.
