OMG! I just have to share this with you guys!
So I saw that there was a package in front of my door this morning. I opened it up and saw that it was from my T. There was a little note in there that said: Amelia, I regret to inform you that we have to stop seeing each other. In here you will find everything you need for the tough times ahead. With Love, T ;-) (Yes there was the winky face, which I didn't notice because all I noticed was my heart dropping!)

I opened it up and found this jar :-)
In there was another note. It said:

"Dear Amelia

In this jar you will find everything you need in times of need:

1. A battery, for when you run out of energy.
2. An eraser, to erase the painful memories.
3. A feather, to remind you of your wings - you are not powerless!
4. A band-aid, for when old wounds open up.
5. A candle, for when you need comfort and peace.
6. An angel, to remind you that you're never alone.
7. CHOCOLATE - well you know it heals everything!

With Love, T

PS: Happy April Fools day! See you next session!"

Seems like my T has humor!!

I would have died. I don't take jokes well, and I probably would have lost it before taking a glance at the gift.

It did freak me out at first, haha! And I didn't know she had this kind of humor. I like her even better now!

Absolutely right on!! We all need more love & laughter in our lives.

I found that the therapist's misguided attempts at humor did not work well for me.
I am glad you did not mind it.

I didn't mind it whatsoever!! It was actually good to feel this little sting when I read her first note - it meant she and our relationship means a lot to me.
And the jar is so cool!!
I absolutely loved this!

It's very cute! I would have cried when I saw the note, though. I know a T wouldn't terminate that way, but still......I wonder why she couldn't say "April Fools" first, and then given you the jar, or something like that.

It's a great gift, though, and I'm glad you appreciate your T's humor! I forgot it is April Fool's Day today.

I don't think I would have found it half as funny if she had said April Fools first.. It was a great reminder of how precious she is to me and as I said, I just LOVE the jar. I'll use it as my home therapy from now on :-)

Wow, that must have taken some time - not a lot, but still enough to know she cares. I would quite like a jar like that from my T.

I would probably like to have a Therapist who had a sense of humor, I remember when I was in school and loved it when I had a Professor who had one.

Amelia! I would have died too! But hey, how... sweet.
You seem to have such a special relationship, and the jar is just lovely. Your T is amazing.

Wow your T is so invested! To take the time to think and do all this is so lovely! I'm melting right now… I find it really special thing to do and it shows how nice your relationship is.

Wow, glad you enjoyed it.

Personally, I would have been very upset and would probably not be okay with my T for awhile. It would take a lot to repair the relationship for me after something like that, because I would hate her toying with my emotions. My two long-term Ts have definitely had a great sense of humor, but would know I would not be okay with that kind of joke.
