I looked up impasse but i dont think , I had that, she didnt explain it, she did write it in our notes, we use to do notes together, I asked but she briefly said, it had to do with something I said or didnt say about my mother.

Have any of you experienced this, and what is it like, this way I will know if I do experience this with my new t.

As i understand it an impasse is like when two people have opposing views on how to move forward and none are budging or compromising, so both are stuck, locked into this position.

Yes, we did/do on several topics- e.g. Whether I could have acted differently.
my T: you were a child you couldn't react any differently I: I could and should have.
The argument of a child not having the cognitive capacity to truly make a decision (sorry for being this vague) just does not include me. My T explained his point several times, so did I, neither of us changed our beliefs, thus we reached an impasse and decided to not dwell on it anymore.

The first one and I have impasses all the time. I haven't had any that I can think of with the second one.

I guess impasse is another word for not coming to a compromise, if thats the case i will be impassing alot lol, because, I like coming to my own conclusions, I dont take anything at face value just because someone tells me its right, lol i need some kind of proof.
