I'm depressed out my mind and he has me smiling. How can my depression be taken seriously if I'm laughing! He kinda lightened my mood and pissed me off. I'd just spent an hour with my psychologist and she got me an emergency meeting with him....this guy confuses my emotions... He tells me he give laughter as part of his treatment....

Maybe that's not a bad thing, as long as he takes you seriously as well.

I met with my Pdoc last week and we spent half the session laughing at me. (He wrote in his notes that "She laughes somewhat cynically about her own issues") But even though I had a panic attack halfway through the session I walked away with a little laughter in my heart.
It's a strength to be able to laugh in spite of your issues. The Pdoc will recognize that, too. It doesn't make the depression any less/less serious. (I wish it did) |
