did you ever just tell your T that you want to talk about and deal with horrible trauma stuff .what did they say.

have you ever decided with your T that maybe dealing with this trauma might be to much and best left alone ??

I have felt that way before. It's overwhelming sometimes. Normally when I start feeling that way, my T and I have a few lighter sessions to break things up and give me a break. After a session or two, I am normally ready to get back into it. Also, we don't do any heavy trauma work when I have stressful things going on in my life, if there's a problem in our relationship, or if we have just had or will have a considerable break.

Yes, several times. My T's stance was always that we would deal with it later if we need to and always said I wasn't ready yet. It was discouraging at the time because it seemed she didn't feel it was important which didn't match my feelings over the matter.

We started trauma work sometime last month and she has been completely open to it and now feels I am ready and it is necessary to the current stage we are in. It's a painfully slow process...
