I say take the hammer and nails as h recommended, and the big ugly loudly ticking clock that CameraObscura recommended..
I think he will remember to make it a priority in the move after all... Love the way we all contribute excellent ideas like this.... Humour is a faster game changer than shame ever was.. Hugs, WB

I've often fantasized about bringing a taxi meter to session. It would count time and money.
And then I'd say things like, "I only want to spend 10 minutes on this, or put in terms YOU'LL understand, I only want to spend $25 on this topic." I like to imply that my T is only in it as a money grubber. |

I find it interesting that there is seems to be more interest around getting the therapist to do something or to do something to the therapist's office and that such idea is seemingly more satisfying than simply keeping time with one's own device.

The taxi meter would be my own device. I'd bring it in and take it home with me.

Well, I really wanted the clock so I could keep track of time as well! I don't think to pick up my cell phone and check it when the session starts!! So him, putting the clock up which is in plain view for me.. Would therefore make possible to keep track of time myself.

When I'm in session, I'm looking up at the clock all the time.

I think we can sometimes transfer items in the room for us.
So it becomes, if he/she can forget about the clock, they can forget about me. |

My T has a desk clock that is sometimes facing me and sometimes facing him. I've gotten in the habit of turning it so I can see it because if I don't have it I go way over and I feel bad. My T rarely cuts me off so if I run over I feel responsible. There have been times that I've asked him when we are meeting next. - that's our queue that it's time to wrap up.
My group T has a clock on almost every wall so no matter where you are sitting in the room you can see a clock. The funny part of that is he is always running late. Poor guy! |
