Another vote for colouring here! Also crosswords and sudoku help me.
I made a box as kind of a self-care thing. I buy random things (books, bath stuff, necklaces, all sorts) and put them in there, then take something out when I need to. |

Really long walks (15 km).
Playing bass guitar. Art. Photography. Journaling. Poetry. Long baths. Napping. Drinking non-caffeinated exotic teas. Eating potato chips or ice cream. Jigsaw puzzles. Playing with polished rocks (e.g., lining them up). Rocking. Spinning clock gear wheels. |

Sometimes I tackle whatever it is that is upsetting me, come out on the "other" side. When I have a bad dream I look at it and analyze it, do other endings, unmask the bad guy, etc. Paying attention to what is upsetting me like bad dreams or ugly/difficult moods often seems to tell my unconscious that I am interested in what it has to say, to learn from it and am listening so it then doesn't have to go to such extremes to get my attention in the future.
