Does that subconsciously mean something? I haven't even written a full page and I have 7 scribbled out m's. I'll be mid sentence and for some reason, I'll just start to write "me". It's really annoying. I feel like there's a person inside me, trying to annoy me so I'll give up on this letter.

Nothing. It's the fact that I'm writing it completely random, without thinking. Where it doesn't belong. For example:

I moved back home me and it's really stressful.

Like there's no reason for that me to be there but without thinking, I'll just start writing it randomly as I write this letter.

Don't censor yourself….keep those "me's"…maybe just see where it leads. Maybe a pattern will emerge or you can share w/T and they can maybe help find the meaning behind it?
Thanks for this!

I agree - don't censor yourself. It could be just a matter of your feelings being neglected and needing to be shown attention.

That's a really cool thing that's happening, with "me" coming out of nowhere when you're not expecting it.

Listen, I'm impressed with your unconscious mind. When you keep writing "me" it's as if your unconscious mind is saying this therapy is about you. It's not about anyone else, about people who may have hurt you or not lived up to what they should have done or what other people expect. It's not about them. It's about you.

I really love Jungian psychology and I can do dream analysis with the best of them, not relying on books that list what certain things are supposed to mean because these symbols are personal most of the time.

Dreams come from the unconscious. This isn't a dream, but it seems to be happening without your conscious bidding. It's saying me me me.

IMO, that represents a beautiful wonderful message from down below your conscious awareness that's giving you permission to make this about yourself. Your Self and Ego and Shadow and Anima/Animus. That may not make any sense to you and your therapist may not have studied Jung. Doesn't matter.

Your unconscious mind is giving you permission to make it all about you.

May I ask: Do you sometimes have difficulty doing things that might be considered selfish? You know, as if it's not right to do things just for you?

Your unconscious mind is telling you it's okay. Hope your therapy experience is a good one!
Thanks for this!

Actually, yes. All the time.

A187 .... I know I'm a stranger on the internet and this may sound weird, but that personality characteristic leaped off the page when viewed from the perspective of your unconscious mind speaking loudly to you. I agree with the other posters -- don't censor yourself as you write. Let it flow.

I really like your unconscious mind.

A187 ... it's wonderful to get that stuff out. If you've been reading the threads in these forums, you'll see how people struggle really hard to say how they're feeling about the present, the past, or even being in therapy.

You did great. It doesn't matter if it's all jumbled up and non-linear and pages long. You did great! I hope your therapist reassures you that it's okay to write pages about how you feel, to get it out, even if you don't talk about every single thing in session. Sometimes it helps really a lot to free associate, vent, rant and say things we've been keeping silent about. It helps you figure out the most important things to talk about with your T. Good work!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
