I finally made an appointment with a therapist for this Friday and now I'm so nervous about it. She sounded nice over the phone, we chatted for a bit, and I really do want to do this, but I'm still freaking out. I'd really like not to be like this until Friday.

Congrats! That's awesome!!! I think I freaked for days before my first appointment.

She'll expect you to be nervous the first time so don't worry about it! I hope things'll go well and you won't need to interview anyone else.

Therapy can be so awesome. I think every week about how it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

What time's your appointment on Friday? I'll try to send you some good vibes. :-)

It's at 11:30.

I don't so much mind being nervous then, but I'd like for it to not consume the rest of my week. Ack!

Yeah it sucks to be nervous for a long time. I was at first but then it settled down to just being nervous right before the session and then just nervous when I got to the waiting room right beforehand. It took a little time though, but not all that long. Try to distract yourself! Sometimes I was less nervous because I was so dang busy at work. (Guess it's obvious I'm not too busy at work today!)

Best of luck,
Sid

Man, I think it's the nerves of the appointment plus the ones over my surgery kicking in, since it's 2 weeks from today.

Must distract myself. Was doing some crossword puzzles and watching tv.

Hang in there, Becca. It can be nervewracking waiting for the first appointment. That's so great you have this appointment at last. I hope it is a great match.

I'm trying to! I just hope this goes better than my one experience before with this woman from my college's health center. She was way too flaky for my taste.
