For those of you who email with your T, do you keep copies of your emails to the therapist as well as the responses?
I usually do because I tend to block out or forget things I have told him; however, I am feeling anxious right now about someone else using my laptop and opening that folder or those emails. What if I die, for instance, and someone else is going through my computer? And my H uses it sometimes in the evenings. I don't *think* he would go through all of my emails, and he wouldn't have a reason to open this particular folder, but I know he has read my emails in the past, especially if I have left one open on the computer when I got up to do something else. |

I do save all the emails I've sent to my T...except one. I also fear my fiance reading them...not currently, but if we were to get into a fight and/or separate. He'll then have a pile of evidence against me. But the fact I'm aware of this possibility, I know if we were to separate...change passwords and started moving files immediately...lol. But he actually already knows everything anyways. Now if my account got "hacked" that would suck!

I don't email with my T, but I have brought in paper letters to him sometimes, which I've written on my computer. I save those in a password protected text file. Maybe you could do that with your email as well? Delete the actual email messages but save the text in a separate, protected file?

I save emails To and from two T's. There was a time I deleted them for fear my daughter would read them when I die. But the emails are valuable to me.
My daughter and I are both adults: I don't want to hurt my daughter, but she's just going to have deal with whatever she finds. Hopefully, she will know a way to mass delete them. |

They're all just in my sent folder. I doubt anyone would be bothered to wade through all my emails if I were to die suddenly. But then, I don't have kids yet to think of.

Yes, I keep it all. It is valuable to me. I don't care if anyone else sees it.

I keep it all too. I also type up notes after each session that I save on my computer. I have a "therapy stuff" folder on my laptop that's chock full of poems, dreams, session notes, etc. my husband would never know how to find it let alone open it and read the stuff. He is pretty much computer-illiterate lol. I probably should figure out how to at least password-protect the folder. I wonder if you can do that.

I don't write anything on net I wouldn't be comfortable s.o. else to see/read, neither does my T. So even though I have his mails (some of them anyways) I don't worry about it much.

I keep the emails on a password protected online account that I use pretty much only for therapy. I guess someone could find evidence of it on my lap top but not the password. I worry about stuff being read if I were to die soon. I think this would help prevent that...
