I feel comfortable wearing them and less likely to having a migraine. My therapist didn't have a problem with them, my psychologist said he can't tell what my eyes are doing and I see my pdoc next week.

Is it weird? Yeah. But maybe it doesn't matter what they think.

I find sunglasses uncomfortable even outside - so for me it would be weird. If you tend to wear them all the time, then it would not be weird for you. Did you ask why the md wanted to see your eyes? I would ignore the md and wear them anyway if I wanted.

I wouldnt because theyre odd to me. I also do not like when people wear sunglasses inside. I see it as disrespectful and off putting. Not just in T, in general if people are inside.

Well imagine your T sitting there with his/hers own.
I for one would be quite uncomfortable with that.
However, Ts are professionals, they should be able to deal with client using sunglasses as a crutch to open up.

It's not weird. Unless they're weird sunglasses. Ts see all kinds of people from all walks of life, and wearing all sorts of things. The only issue would be that many therapists prefer to see the eyes of the client. It helps them understand you better by your reactions to them. I wonder if you can wear shades that are not completely dark so T can see your eyes. Alternatively discuss if your T can change the lighting in the room to suit your need. Either way your health and well-being comes first.

Like this dog, you can see the eyes quite well which is good. I think its eyes are saying, "Get these cheap shades off of me, I need my Ray-Bans!"
is it weird wearing sunglasses to appointments ?

It depends on you how you feel after wearing sunglasses, if you are comfortable with glasses then their is no issue. As I love to wear sunglasses all the time and without glasses I don't feel comfortable.I have made a collection of glasses from Wholesale fashion sunglasses.

I think being able to see eyes is really important as they express so much, a lot of communication is made by the eyes,.

I wear my sunglasses a lot indoors because they are prescription and I hate changing to my clear ones, but I don't think I would like wearing them in therapy because I like the eye contact. My old therapist would catch me if I started to disassociate by watching my eyes. The eye contact was invaluable but I say whatever you are comfortable with. It's your therapy.

I sometimes wear sunglasses inside, either to ward off a migraine, or during a migraine. I wouldn't find it weird if others did so, and I don't find it rude. It's really none of my business.

How can it be disrespectful you don't have a clue why someone has them on your judging them from the outside but you do not know what is going on inside them .

It could be anything ..

Maybe someone has a pink eye not wanting to show it to the public .

Maybe the only way a person will go out in public is wearing sun glasses to feel safe .
Would you rather them stay home and not ever go out in public because they fear that they are being looked down on ?

Over react much? Jeez. I never said that. I meant as someome talking to someone one on one, I believe is rude. I didnt say in public or to answer to anyone around them unless they are engaging with someone one to one. I believe (I didnt say you had to too) if you talk with someone having sunglasses on inside is a communication barrier. If T wore sunglasses in session what would you think

If the therapist wore sunglasses indoors, I would think they had some eye problem. I have had to wear dark glasses after eye surgery before.

For me, sunglasses inside only to hide a black eye and avoid questions. Looks a little shifty, doesn't it?

I have worn sunglasses in session.

The glare of sunlight off of a wall and canopy across the street from T's office can get very uncomfortable. When that happens, I wear my sunglasses during session. It is very helpful to me and T does not mind.
