I Lived, by One Republic.

It's the kind of advice she'd give...Accept pain/risk when reaching out to people.

For my longtime T, Winter by Tori Amos

"He says when you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
'Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change my dear"

For cbt T, I'll have to think about that
Thanks for this!

The songs posted reminded me how old I am! I hardly heard of any of them. Probably Over the Rainbow- Judy Garland in Wizard of Oz, or Where is Love? from the movie and play Oliver because I sang them in my session once. They're kind of my theme songs. My T herself doesn't remind me of any song, or maybe some soothing classical orchestral music!

Copeland - In Her Arms You Will Never Starve

In a world of chaos, she could be your silence.
The oceans of her kindness, they will pull you under.
When you stumble in the cold, she will urge you onward.
And in your darkest hour should storms rage around you, her love will be a shelter.

There are two..

"White Flag" by Dido expresses how I feel very well but also
"Photograph" by Def Leppard, mostly because it's the ring tone I have set for when she or her office calls.. I made a ton of my own ring tones and gave each person in my contact list their own song, that way I can tell who is calling before I even look at my phone.

Every time I hear it I completely fall apart - it's so beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Black Ticket Day by Ed Kuepper. If you interpret any type of 'relationship' aspects of the song through the lens of a therapeutic relationship or bond, I feel like it sort of tells the story of how that bond has progressed and grown over the years I've been with my Pdoc.

At the moment, "Love Hurts" by Nazareth. I want to listen to it but I don't because it will make me cry.

For some reason, Mr. November by The National makes me think of my marriage counselor, even though I'm pretty sure he never "used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders." Really, almost anything by The National. Seems like a good soundtrack for erotic transference :-)

Not so sure about my individual T.

I sorta rewrite some of the lyrics in my head, but the song "I will never be the same" by Melissa Etheridge is what comes to mind right now. I may actually share this with her, with my re-written lyrics.

ETA: Holy smokes, what a difference between now and my response on 1/31! I did some pretty huge work right about then that's just coming to fruition now.
