Is the benefit of therapy worth all that?

I've talked to my T. about the short amount of time. She said she's found that if it's longer, people take longer to open up. The shorter amount of time somewhat forces people to dig right in. I don't like it but I've stopped complaining about it. Like someone else said, I try to just pick 1-2 things to talk about. I think the more I am in pain, the shorter the session feels of course.

It's a crap shoot as to whether anything is worth something or has enough or even any benefit. People do the same sort of thing to themselves all the time in other areas (running marathons, triatholons, awful medical treatments not designed to cure or even create quality of life, lifting weights until throwing up, etc).

Presumably marathon runners and people under medical treatment have some idea of the progress of any improvements and this helps them keep going. Do you not get any sense of improvement under therapy to help you keep going?

I have found a way to make them useful. It is not in the way others describe here. I do not look to them or therapy for improvement.
Sometimes I look at it like any other endurance situation- I find having the ability to endure that which I find so unpleasant/distasteful to be not unuseful.

Ooh, I think I'd like 90 minutes, it takes me about 55 mins to warm up! I'm the queen of the door handle transaction
Though, I think if I did 90 minutes I'd need a wee, and a cup of tea. Anyone?

I think I understand - I call it the ability to persist.

It goes by fast, and we get a lot covered, but I think any more time would be too much.
