If you see T before or after work, then of course you're probably dressed professionally. But if your sessions are during other times or if you're not working, what do you wear? Do you dress up or go totally casual?

Women: what about make-up? Do you wear 0 make-up, a tiny bit (concealor, lipstick, liner), or do the full face?

I wear jeans and a shirt. The only make-up I ever wear is eyeliner so I have that on. I don't dress up for it - I prefer to be comfortable since therapy itself can be uncomfortable.

I never wear skirts because I sit cross-legged on the sofa. I try and wear easy to slip off boots for the same reason.
I usually wear jeans and a comfortable top, but not scruffy. I wear a bit of make up but not mascara in case I cry (hasn't happened yet though). I always wear my hair down.

I dress a little nicer than usual, but not dressy/professional either. I wear makeup lite or none at all if I feel like it.
I used to always keep my hair up because it makes me feel more 'together', but now I always leave it out. I don't go to T to pretend to be okay

I can't leave the house to go anywhere unless I'm dressed my best and my full 'face' is on. :/ I am told I should work on this... I think my T might die if I showed up in full on casual/comfy and no face. Even when I had an emergency session I did the full works - that's fun trying to put on make-up with shaky hands and tears falling down your face.

Jeans and a Tshirt or sweater, since I usually go straight to work from T. (Though that's the clothes I wear whenever I leave the house, not just for work.) No makeup - I have never used any kind of makeup other than on stage. I tend to choose matching socks, since they will be on display

like Polibeth, I dress comfortable: jeans, tshirt, and flipflops. sometimes I wear a sweatshirt (if it's chilly or if I want to hide more). I wear my hair down, also so I can hide. If the session is not too heavy, or I feel more comfortable, up the hair goes since I find my hair being down incredibly annoying. It's good for hidding though, long and falls over my face easily.
I only ever wear eyeliner, so make-up is limited to that. One T was allergic to a lot of stuff, so I would refrain from any scents, but I usually wear my cologne when I go out. If I'm expecting a stressful session, I wear lavender oil instead of my normal scent. I also make sure to wear a grounding bracelet so I can fidget with it if need be.
Thanks for this!

I usually wear jeans too, no make up. Hair sometimes up sometimes down, I think I look more together with it up.

I always wear jeans, flip flops (boots lately because its cold) and a cute top. If i'm rushing or feeling lazy, a tee shirt. Usually my hair is in a pony tail. On a good day, I wear eye liner and mascara. Rarely will I wear lip gloss or my hair loose. And once, last week, in the year and a half, has she seen me in my work uniform which became a "omg" moment for both her and the staff lol.

I always dress casually in general, not only in therapy. Even when I wear a dress or skirt, I always dress it down. I never wear jewelry. Sometimes, especially in the summer, I don't wear makeup; but usually I do wear a little bit of makeup.

Usually work clothes with hair down. I feel even more like a kid with it up. Light makeup but no mascara in case I cry. Jeans and a shirt if it's after work.

Pretty much whatever... I've never really thought about it. I just wear whatever is clean. I tend to dress very casual all the time. Jeans, tshirts, hoodies, and runners. Of course in the snow I wear my jacket, boots, and touque. I never style my hair and I never put on makeup. I save hair and makeup for fancy occasions.

Weekdays, it's work wear which is pretty casual anyway. Weekends it's about the same but sometimes I will wear athletic wear and a hoodie if I'm going to the gym that day. My biggest effort if it's not a gym day is putting a little more effort into my hair and wearing a bit of perfume.

Dressing 'up' is partially about looking nice for my T — I really do like it when she compliments something I wear— but it's also about the idea that taking interest in one's own appearance is part of the self care process.

I wear what I would wear anywhere I go. Jeans, pants, skirt; blouse, tank top; dress; sweater. All my clothes are black (minus jeans of course). My T said she would hospitalize me if I wear color because she'd know there's something wrong with me I always wear sandals. And I put on foundation. I don't own any other makeup anyways. I never wear perfume because I believe that if you keep yourself clean, then you smell good already.

I always wear jeans and a sweater, if I come from work it's a black one with the firm's logo on it, otherwise a "horsey" one as I usually go to the stables afterwards.
I don't ride anymore, but when I used to I was so embarrassed about going to T in my jodhpurs that I would put a jeans over them. I also hated going with my stinky riding coat so left that one in the car even in the middle of winter...

Whatever is clean, which usually means I'm dressed down but can mean dressed up.
I hardly ever leave the house without foundation on because I am beyond pale and burn so easily that I have to have SPF, even if I'm only outside for a few minutes.
Occasionally, if I have time, I'll wear mascara and nude lipstick or gloss. If I have more time and feel like it, I might go ahead and put on some blush, eye shadow and liner. I haven't done that in a long time.
There have been times when I didn't wear any makeup at all. That's usually a red flag.
Hair pulled up into a "messy" bun.

Casual unless on my way from/to court or to teach. I never wear makeup anywhere.

No, I don't wear makeup anymore because when I cry in therapy, my mascara runs. Plus, I'm often rubbing my face out of anxiety in T....not worth wearing makeup.

T is on the other side of the world right now, so when we skype, we are usually both in pajames. night for me, morning for her. Neither one of us ever really wears make up. When she was still here at home, we both usualy wore shorts and tank tops.we are both very laid back.

Yesterday I had worked from home all day. So I wore sweatpants, furry boots, and a T-shirt. Usually I wear my work clothes. I really love being comfy in sweatpants while there.

For most of the time that I saw her in person, I worked at home so I usually wore jeans or shorts and a t-shirt and flip flops. I never wear makeup - well, so rarely that I call it never. I'm even more casual now, since we do phone appointments, half the time I'm already in my pj's when I call her after work.
