Well she always wore earth tones, that much I knew. I always liked it and thought she dressed well. Of course I'm biased because I love earth tones.
I think the loudest thing she wore was a baby blue blazer and it seemed odd because of what she normally wore but she looked nice in it.

Mine just wears business clothes. Maybe because he's a psychiatrist and it's what he wears at the hospital as well.

Last session she wore a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans with boots and she dresses in a lot of maxi skirts and summer dresses in warm weather so I assume she just wears whatever's comfortable. I want to see her show up in a robe. That'd be incredible.

My female T is quite stylish and always looks like a million in a professional way. She hardly ever wears the same outfit. On the other hand, my pc doc would wear a polo shirt and shorts at my appointment and it absolutely blew my confidence to smitherines. I even changed doctors, even though that was a bit extreme of me.

Some years ago it became the mentality that medical professionals should identify more with patients by dressing like them. But that's just ignorant, in my opinion. People seeking help from doctors and nurses usually want them to have a special attire displaying their medical credentials, or some medical style that inspires hope and confidence. Remember when nurses wore white and the nurse's cap, and the doctors wore the white coat?

My doctor is just wearing his clothes that are sensible for the day. I don't read into it too much.

My T doesn't have a set look. However....

Back in the 80's, I took a death & dying psych class. The prof always dressed in Gloria Vanderbilt. Head to toe. Each piece of the outfit was the same exact color. Like one day, it'd be all turquoise. Another day, a different color. I have nothing against GV, I've worn her stuff. It just always made me wonder: Why?! Like, was this a fashion statement or indicative of a deep-rooted psychopathology?

I haven't actually seen her for over 2 years, but when I still saw her in person, she always wore black in some variation or other. Every once in awhile she'd wear some color, but not often. I used to tease her about always wearing black. Doing phone sessions, I dunno anymore. Funny but I never really thought about this before, I don't even picture her sitting there across from me anymore. I used to do that when we talked after she first moved, pictured her sitting there, but I don't do that anymore. Interesting.

I had a prof in college back in the 80's, some Lit class or other, if I remember right. She had a dress for each day of the week. They were expensive dresses, looked very nice, and she explained why one time but I've forgotten. That's all I remember from her class was her 5 expensive dresses. If you forgot what day of the week it was, just had to look at her.
Thanks for this!

My T tends to wear neutrals now that I think of it and most of the other Ts in the practice do too. My pdoc wears more color- a lighter button down shirt and khakis. Pretty basic business casual.

T is always color coordinated. Slacks or a skirt. Sweaters or blouse things on top. It is definitely a certain style but I don't know what to call it. I don't notice the details of it anymore.

My T always wears solid colors - never shirts with any design, strips, flowers, etc. I guess this has some psychological reason.

The clinic he works at is business casual although there have been a couple of times he's come in wearing jeans and at least once he's admitted he's like, "Whatever, I want to wear jeans."

I recognize his shirts and whatnot but that's because I tend to notice such things, not just about him. I think he's similar to my H - has a rotation of shirts. He even likes to wear the slip on shoes.

Psychodynamic T is a khaki pants and tweed jacket kind of guy

CBT T wears a colorful shirt with coordinating novelty tie (either rich colors like cobalt blue and turquoise or pastels like lavender or pink)

and usually black slacks black socks black leather loafers.

No uniform no, LOL. He's somewhat predictable, some kind of collar shirt, jeans or khakis, a shorts perhaps in the summer, and usually light hiking shoes.

My T is 67 years old.. Yeah old school .. White dress shirt, black pants , black shoes and socks and he wears all the "goofy and charity ties", he wears them because his wife , kids or grandkids give him as gifts .LOL

Seeing him over 3 years now.. If I ever see him wearing anything different I am probably going to need to go IP !!
