Every session, my T wears a navy polo shirt, black slacks, and black dress shoes. I don't understand why. Maybe to be consistent? Maybe colors can be triggers for people (he's a trauma T)?

Does your T wear the same exact thing all the time or it varies?

I don't pay that much attention to the woman's wardrobe. I don't think it is the same all the time, but I really couldn't say for sure. Sometimes it is slacks and sometimes it is skirts I believe. I don't pay that much attention to what anyone wears. I could not tell you what I wore yesterday.
About the only thing I am certain about regarding her wardrobe is that she has always been wearing some clothes when I am there.

My T used to wear a formal(ish) shirt and trousers, but as therapy progressed he became more inclined towards casual wear. I guess he didn't want to come across as too informal until he got to know me. I always notice what he is wearing.

my therapist doesnt have a "uniform". she believes in being connected to the present moment and chooses what she is most comfortable with at that moment, she encourages her clients to also come to sessions in what ever ways that enables them to be present and comfortable in the moment too.

that said I do know some treatment providers that do dress down by wearing basic grays and blacks due to some clients with some mental disorders can be affected by colors (ie reading posts here on psych central I have read many posts talking about how colors affect them when they are reading posts or have to stay away from some colors due to epilepsy, ocd aspergers atism.....) some people can also get distracted or over stimulated by vivid or clashing colors....gosh there are so many reasons why a treatment provider would dress down by limiting what colors they wear and limiting what clothing or uniform style they wear during therapy...

my suggestion ask the treatment provider. most that I know are very willing to answer this kind of question.

Yes. Black chinos and a white casual shirt often featuring a discrete pattern (the palm trees are my favorite) and now it's chilly a very sensible jumper.
It's his shoes I like the most, they are black nothing fancy but look like they are really comfortable.
Actually his whole appearance looks comfortable with a tiny bit of scruffy. Definitely not dressed to impress. I like that, it makes me more comfortable.

The T I was seeing at the start of last year dressed way more formally and was always in all blue, blouse, skirt, shoes all bloody blue.

My T pretty much always wears the same thing. I just put it down to him being a guy.

My T doesn't have a uniform, but she has a style. It's sort of Boho chic. It's very cute and unique. I love how she dresses.

Not a uniform, just not a whole lot of variety. Typical dress/work slacks and dress shirt, usually without a tie. He's a boring dresser, but I find most men don't have a great deal of variety in their clothing for the most part (spoken as the one female in a house of men). It doesn't bother me in any way. I'm pretty oblivious about it beyond the fact that I've recognized his "style".

I'm not sure what he wears. Trousers and some kind of shirt or sweater, I guess. Regular work clothes, just like me (though I don't think he usually wears jeans, whereas I always do.) The only thing I have really noticed are his socks, which are colourful. Like most people here, he wears indoor sandals in his office. I don't know whether he (or anybody else) has a particular clothing style or not - it's not part of what we discuss, and I'm not competent to tell for myself.

My T doesn't have a uniform per se, but she always looks like she walked out of Eileen Fisher. She wears earth-tone flowy skirts, long sweaters, and platform shoes. Ive told her before that I would love to give her a make-over.

T is very classy dressed to the nines everyday - like a walking ad for Nordstroms or Bergdorf Goodman.

Just googled Eileen fisher
Yeah my t is a bit like that. She wears: grey skinny jeans, grey or green top with waterfall cardi and nice scarf, in the summer she wears white stuff tunics and crop light jeans.
Unless she's been to supervision in which case she wears all black, pencil skirt, tights, top...yikes.

Well, my T is single and is attracted to butch women! Haha.

I'm attracted to women in skinny jeans, spaghetti strap tops, and high heel boots. Anyone got a femme lesbian T who dresses like that? J/k. I actually have what I *think* is a date (or at least a "let's see") on Saturday night. I met her at a lesbian event, she asked me to go to a second event last night, I went, and now she invited me to go with her (and friends of hers) to a club on Saturday night. Is that a sign of romantic interest? I'm used to meeting women online where we both know we're interested up front-- meeting someone in the "real world" can be confusing because you don't get a memo that says "I'm interested." You sort of have to wait and see...

Sorry if I'm derailing this thread!

The colors thing made me realize my T does wear grey and black a lot. Mostly blouses, pants or skity and a kinda open-design buttonless cardigan. Her cardigan reminds me of a cape. Gives her a superhero vibe.

My T's have never really had a uniform or anything like that. Most wear soothing, cool, or muted colors (earth tones, pastels, etc). Current T has alternated between office casual, and something more formal (I've only seen her 4 times, and she was formal, then casual, then formal, then casual and it's the same day every week). A previous T actually mentioned once that she tried to alternate her wardrobe over the weeks so clients didn't see always her in the same clothing. I've noticed my T's that see more kids tend to dress a bit more casual, where the T's I've seen that have a mostly adult case-load are more formal/business-like. The colors all seem similar though...

My therapist wears casual dress pants and long sleeved dress shirts with different patterns or different colors with either black or brown dress shoes. I like going to therapy to see which shirt he's going to be wearing that week. He doesn't have a large variety in his wardrobe.
