Everything makes me so angry these days. I wish I understood why.
Also, I haven't been online much this weekend and have a dozen couch pages to read up on... Also also, I'm reading the novel T recommended to me a few months ago. I ordered it at my local bookshop (which is the kind of bookshop that people travel to my town from other countries in order to visit) but the owner forgot to tell me when it came in, so I suddenly saw it on the shelf in the shop a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I made fun of the owner. He is a good friend (as he should be, seeing how many books I've bought there over the last 20 years.) Anyway, I really like the novel, which is a relief since it would have been vaguely embarrassing to admit to T that I didn't like it. I've reached the point where I wouldn't lie to him and say that I liked it, if I didn't. I think that's a good thing, actually. |

We have a big chain of bookstores here that I go to. After my last session I wandered through most of the non-fiction sections looking for something to read on the plane tomorrow. Nothing jumped out at me. Usually I can find something... Castles, Astronomy, Music, Biographies... anything. My T suggested a couple therapy books so I went out the other day and picked them up. I am sure my day of airports and planes will be more tolerable with books. I am actually looking forward to reading them.

In my view it still seem most people here do all sorts of things to defend therapy and therapists in general. But I see that others do not have my view and that is part of forums I think - and I think the various view points are good. I still enjoy it and the debates and sometimes even the disagreements. It ebbs and flows I think.

I'm impressed that you stuck your neck out there like that and started a thread... since it's against your policy and all ![]()

It would figure that up until today I would have been like POSITIVE THREAD YAY.
Now I'm bummed. I realized I have some frustrations with the way my T handled some stuff. It's kind of a long story. To be fair, it's been six years and I haven't really felt frustrated with him, so he's bound to do something at some point :P Still. I don't like to admit to feeling upset. And he keeps telling me that I need to stop belittling my emotions. I don't think he realized that this was going to trigger me to be upset with him *facepalm*

I know - I am a little concerned my first post there was too soppy and gushy.

![]() Not that your post was even a little 'soppy' or 'gushy.' It basically repeated what you've always said about the two you see.

What next? Who knows what kind of slippery slope I may be on. Kum-ba-ya and holding hands around a campfire? Letting the woman talk more than once every few months? Hugging? (Okay - I have now scared myself and am off to walk the dogs)

This is like a Full House moment, where someone says something adorable and the live audience goes "aaaaawwwwwwww" and then Michelle or Uncle Joey says something goofy and all is well in the world.
ETA: Now that I think back on it, the "live audience" was probably a laugh track...I refuse to believe it though, lol. |

Good lord. Being compared to full house is worse than kum-ba-ya around a campfire.
It is, in fact, perilously close to getting hugged in the horrification scale.

We totally need to build stopdog's Horrification Scale, much like that old red/yellow/green terror scale that was a thing about a decade ago.

I am completely regretting the whole experiment.
This is more awful than I imagined it would be. After the dog walk I may go blowtorch something dangerous just to make me feel better if it explodes.

I was talking to my Dad a few minutes ago. He's 84 and in pretty good health and sharp as a tack. But he said he's been having bouts of vertigo for about two weeks now. They are treating him with steroids which seem to help somewhat but not completely. They think it may be Meniere's disease which would be hard on him at his age. It's hard anyway. We have a church choir member about my age (early 50's) who has Meniere's and those spells can be pretty debilitating and outright dangerous. Hate to see it for my Dad. He's had like zero health issues, so this just may be the start of his age really showing. I suppose if my age didn't show until 84 that would be a great thing though, but it's a bit of a blow to that hard-headed German.

Does anyone play video games here? I'm trying to poll people about the Mass Effect trilogy and whether I should play all of it, or just the latest one.

All three have game play differences but the story continues through all three with your choices affecting each game. I would suggest the whole trilogy because of the carry through and it's well done but if you just want to play the new one I don't see the harm.

I have a friend who went on and on about fem!Shep but I don't know enough about ME to tell you more than that. I love games with strong female protagonists or the option to play as a strong female protagonist and so it's been on my back burner to play for a while. I'm working through my third play through of Dragon Age Inquisition and while I've got a couple of more play throughs planned, I don't have another game on the horizon at the moment and thought maybe I should add it in there. This online friend loves Dragon Age as much as I do so I figure we have similar tastes.
