My aunt had one when I was young, and she was such a great dog--awesome with kids, rarely barked, loved to play but was also a total lap dog.

I did not grow up with dogs in my house but I have gotten attached to the breed my grandparents owned when I was very little - now I cannot imagine owning any other breed. I have friends who are attached to labs, terriers, pugs and so on - none of them breeds I would ever want to own, but they love them. It is fun to see who picks what breed or type of mix to get.

Aw. New puppy! Poor SD with the cold, I hope you get better real soon (and I hope I didn't infect you by vegging on the couch!) and grow the skin back on the roof of your mouth, ouch!

Mast and PuzzleBug please do not stay away too long, you will be missed!
Thanks for this!

CKC puppies do seem cute.
Most puppies are cute - which, from experience with my own, is good because there are days if they were not so cute one would be quite put out with them indeed.

Don't get snowed by the wrong opinion! These debates have really been heating up lately. There's just a deluge of info out there on this stuff. It's like an avalanche. It's good that this kind of discussion is seeing some sunshine, though.

...I'll stop there, SORRY. Went into pun overdrive for a second.

None of our puppies where chewers or biters or diggers. My theory is they were just as afraid of my mother as we were. Dogs were treated better though. ;(

Imo we are seeing the results of the BP well disaster. That advanced climate change by decades, at least. That burned a long time. Has anyone ever seen an estimate of how many "average" days pollution it equalled?

I loved the holes things. I love mast because she makes me think not just about therapy but language and all sorts of things

That whole disaster broke my heart. I just love the Gulf Coast and to be dealt that after Katrina and Rita..

I just looked up some info on CKC spaniels - my cat is bigger than they are. That puppy will be tiny.

Selfish, bloodsucking, entitled, controlling, lazy-arse parents make me rage-y. Kids are people. Not property. Just sayin'

When I see my big boy now and look at pictures of him when he was a puppy - it is hard to remember that he used to stand upright underneath my older dog (who is smaller grown than my younger boy is) when we got him at 7 weeks old.
And my 18lb cat totally bosses the 80lb dog around.

Cats boss everyone around no matter how big or small they are. That is their job!

There is an entire thread dedicated to just jumping in and being jolly about therapists and therapy. I don't read it even though I started it, but it is there and ready to be used.

Yes, all my cats have been in charge of the dogs. This is the first time I have had more dogs in the house than cats.
