News focuses (as I suppose it must) on single spectacular events. But global warming is about things everyone does every day everywhere.

Yes, this was tile outside the entryway to a major hotel. It was raining that morning and her feet slipped right out from under her. She fell backwards and the back of her head hit brick.

Tile is dangerous. My husband has to use crutches all the time, and he often struggles on floors that are just too slick, usually in major department stores. He's going to end up falling one of these days; I just know it. The world is a dangerous place for people who are handicappeds struggling with canes and walkers and the such. Those shiny floors are pretty, but they're dangerous if your footing is at all precarious. I try to get him to use an electric cart or wheelchair, but those come with their own problems.

That doesnt answer my question. Before the accident, we saw films about the glaciers saying your great great great grandchildren wont have these. Now WE dont even have them. And thet are not saying ANYTHING about what thd damage was. I think this is an easy question - we should all have the answer on our fingertips.

I go to the beach to look for birds and I come back to a very busy couch!

Mast, I hope you come back soon. I hope it wasn't anything I said.

Not a huge amount of birds but the regulars are very cool. Brown pelicans, Great egret, a Great Blue Heron, Double-crested comorants, a mersanger I think, a bunch of some kind of sea ducks offshore...

I used to really love birdwatching, til my ex took all my pleasure away. Not complaining just stating a fact.

Hey Folks,

Just to let you all know, 17 posts were removed from this thread for discussing other members, banned or not, or how some members are having difficulties in their walks in their illness, etc. (it does not matter if usernames are not used, most members know who you are talking about, especially if it's them!) This is just not supportive posting even when some members post positive things in response. No one likes to be talked about or made mention of how they are walking through their illnesses or disorders.

These kinds of threads are for posting about yourself and how your day is going or what's happened in your life, more of a kind of lighthearted discussion between the members of this forum.

Please keep the supportive posting going!

Thanks
Thanks for this!

Granite, you are reacting to a situation that didn't have anything to do with your post. It was a completely different post by a different poster on a different thread. This wasn't about you Granite. I'm sorry this has triggered you, but the moderators deleted several peoples' posts; I don't suspect they hate us all. It wasn't an action in any way pointed at your posts.
Thanks for this!

I wouldn't worry about it granite.

I got deleted for saying "I like this." To a quote... Which made perfect sense.

Granite, take a few breaths. All posts that were in that conversation concerning a completely different situation, completely not related to your thank you to the positive thread, were removed. It really was not about your thank you on the positive thread. It had absolutely nothing to do with that thread at all. You came into the middle of a conversation about a different situation and thought it was about you when it wasn't at all. This really was not about you. Your post was only deleted on the couch because it was part of that conversation where all posts involved were deleted.
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
