My deepest sympathy, NP.
I'm glad you had the chance to work with her but I'm so sad you and her other clients are understandably filled with sorrow right now.
Take care.
Thanks for this!

I'm so sorry.
She is gone but those 13 years and all the good she's brought to your life are not. Take all the time you need to grieve, one day the sorrow will make space to the good memories and more serenity. I hope you find some comfort.. easier said than done, but.. take care.

Everyone - all your words and hugs mean the world to me. Thank you all so much for making me feel so "cared for". It really does help knowing I have some place to go for support!
Wotchermuggle: Part of me really wants to go to the funeral, but there's the anxiety riddled part of me that would be more comfortable staying away. I want to be close to her one more time, and maybe get some sense of closure? But there's the part of me that is petrified of going somewhere, alone, and my emotions will be out there and raw in front of a lot of strangers...

ScarletPimpernel: thank you for the words (quotes), they are so peaceful. I have re-read them several times to feel the calming effect they have.

dancinglady: I have no idea how this thing with new T and me is going to work. I'm scared/petrified to be that vulnerable again. I'm hoping that with this one, we will have a proper amount of time to process the end of our therapy together. We are close in age (as was the last one), so I'm hoping that we can work differently to reach an easier conclusion.

I want to give return hugs to all of you - thank you

Wow, nervous puppy, I can't imagine the grief you are dealing with right now... I am truly so sorry for your loss! One thing I can tell you, in losing someone important to you (therapist or otherwise), cherish what you had with this person & know that nobody can change it or take it away from you! With time it gets better but it will be very hard for you in the interim & I'm so sad for you! 13 years is a long time to spend with one person in therapy & I'm sure you two did some great work & built something special & worth having together along the way.... I am really happy to know that you are in good hands with another T already, if she has 30 yrs experience then I'm sure she will be able to help you deal with what is needed.... you're in my thoughts & I hope you are able to find healing in this journey with your new T!
Thanks for this!
