if a state board determines that a T has abandoned their patient what is the worst disciplinary action that you know of that could happen to T?

Idk. But probably NOT suspension or removal of their license. That would take some bigger infraction or multiple.
My advocate says mine will get a mark on her file no matter the outcome of my grievance.

From the ACA code of ethics:
A.12. Abandonment and Client Neglect Counselors do not abandon or neglect clients in counseling. Counselors assist in making appropriate arrangements for the continuation of treatment, when necessary, during interruptions such as vacations, illness, and following termination. Other codes of ethics use the word abandon or abandonment as well. |
