I once showed up the er in an ambulance, with my collar bone in 3 pieces and the center piece obliterated, my arm relocated to the middle of my chest, so many rib fractures that the radiologist stopped counting and just said " severe left side chest wall trauma" and a collapsed lung ..... and was accused by the ER doctor of being a drug seeker ..He sent me home with a sling and motrin. I'm a vet and we sure as hell don't treat animals that way.
Next day I ended up hospitalized. Was in there a week and had two surgeries. The callousNess that doctor showed was mind blowing. ..

I am reading up on grain grinders to pick a better one than what I use now. And if I get one, I will be able to make flour from all sorts of things that my current method does not handle or handles with issues.

Morning couch. No cleaning last night. I ended up laying down for a minute and fell right asleep. Woke up at the alarm about an hour ago. May try to do a little bit this morning before leaving for T, since I don't have to leave until 9ish. 5 days of school (with kids) and counting. Please let them hold in their summer jitters and stay calm. Off today and tomorrow from CVS, so I should be able to get more cleaning done after school-job. Work until midnight on Thursday. But it is truck night, so we will have delivery/stock to put away, which can take a while depending on when the truck arrives and how many crates we get. Work till midnight on Friday as well, but that won't be bad as the next day is a weekend. I probably will not go home early either of those two days as IH is the night pharmacist those nights and he likes to find things for us to do if he can rather than sending home early. EO, last night's night pharmacist thinks that is pointless and just calls it a night if it is slow. I don't mind either, as sometimes I need the hours and other times I am tired and need to get to bed.

I asked another tech who has been there a couple years if it was a bad thing that the pharmacy manager's eyes lit up like a little kid in a candy store when he heard that I had more availability in the summer. She said yes. Lol. KK, the day pharmacist for that day overheard and laughed and made the comment that it means I will not have as much availability for my personal life as I thought I would. Haha. I guess that means I will get more hours this summer than I usually do, though they still can't work me over 40, so it will still be less than when I have 2 jobs going at once. :-P

I am hungry, but I usually don't eat breakfast, so I have no morning food in the house. Hmm...maybe a stop at Krispy Kreme on my way to T, or Dunkin Donuts (I have a gift card to use there). Though I really should watch what I eat, as I gained more weight.

At first I was happy I was gaining weight because I thought I was too thin, now it is concerning me. I know why....I am eating a lot of junk or fast food...so it is easy to remedy. Last time I weighed at the grocery store I was 163 pounds. I am only 5 foot, so that is a lot of weight for my height. People never believe that I weigh that what I tell them though and tell me I carry it well, so I do have that going for me. It's still a lot of weight though and I should probably try to eat healthier.

Well, I should go try to clean at least a tiny bit before T.

Have a good day (or evening), everyone.

Ugh. Now family in Houston area are dealing with flooding. My nephew in South Texas has loaded up his tractor and it headed toward the flood areas in San Marcos to help family and friends dig out. More rain expected today. Enough is enough. I don't think people always realize how big Texas is to realize how hugely widespread this flooding is. This is nuts.

Stay safe, Chris. We have had some flash flooding here, but nothing horrible. I will stop whining about not being able to ride my favorite trails now.

LOL. It's pretty horrible in places. I spoke to my brother-in-law in Houston this morning. He's obviously not even attempting to get to work today. He works in the medical center and apparently they have a foot of water in the basements of all of the hospitals right now. He has no power, no internet, no cable at this moment. His rain gauge overflowed after 6 inches and the rain didn't start until fairly late last night.

My cousins and lots of friends worked on tearing out walls and insulation yesterday. A friend had ordered food from Carino's for the whole tribe (like 15 people). When she went to pick it up, the manager said his credit card reader was broken and wouldn't let them pay for it. People really are good. We forget that sometimes.

I'm in Houston and working from home today as many major roads are not passable. 1st responders are helping those who have been stranded since last night... and yes more rain in the forecast.

Yuck. You were hammered last night. It's been a few years since you've flooded like this, hasn't it?

We were hammered, between the tv warning noises, cellphone alerts and storm itself. No one slept a wink. I have a few downed trees too, one missed my neighbors car by inches. I have only lived here a little over a year, but in 2008 they were hit pretty bad too.

I have gone and bagged sand several times around here. And sometimes it is so futile.

Sand is a hot commodity here, as they are trying to stop dams from breaching.

Hugs to those surviving the weather ( and a courteous nod to Stopdog).
Bright and breezy here.
I wrote a letter to t last week, all the nasty stuff I can't say in therapy, all in one letter so she will know what I know. I have t this afternoon.
Got up this morning, burnt the letter in the garden, buried the ashes in the flower bed.

Morning.

Today I think is better than the past few (don't want to curse it) my heart hurts and my chest is heavy but I haven't cried yet and my mind is 'somewhat' calm. I'll take that as a good sign. Just getting some work done while I can process clearly.

Hope everyone has a decent day, Hugs to those that need them, and a hat tip to SD.

stay safe everybody with the bad weather!!

i have pretty much decided what I'm going to do to be able to see t tomorrow (!) i can't take the day off pre-planned, it's too late and they won't let me. I think I am going to come home at lunchtime (I live like 5 minutes from work literally) and then call out sick for the rest of the day. the place will not shut down if I call out for 4 hours. I have not called out sick for quite awhile, so I should not even care. I didn't volunteer for this training thing with the later schedule initially because I knew t was coming, but I let myself be guilted into doing it anyway when they asked me to and then asked her to work around my schedule. Now I am kicking myself for allowing the guilt to get to me. This will not happen again. And I am calling out sick for half the day tomorrow to prove it to myself. Because this is likely my last opportunity to see t in person and I am not going to miss it.

I am getting so frustrated with my weather app. Every day, every time I look, it indicates it is raining, or going to be raining. When I look outside, however, it is sunny. But, I think, well, it's going to rain, so I don't go get the horse. In an hour, it is still sunny, so I check the weather app and it STILL says it is either raining or going to rain shortly. It did that all day, several days in a row and it did not rain until 6, 9 and midnight respectively. I even double check the time to make sure it is updating. I need the job of predicting the weather for this app. Apparently, you do not even need the ability to look out a ****ing window in order to have this job.
