Text from my sister this morning, fool fell asleep on her heating pad and woke up with blisters all over her spine and surrounding skin. Currently in urgent care awaiting treatment. She has neuropathy so can't feel any pain from it, but says it looks bad.

I'm having a Monday, hope you all are getting along better than I am. I'll try to pop in later to update everyone. . .

Growly, I had to do a "credit counseling" recently and they may be able to help you. Let me dig up the information and I'll shoot you a PM. Wait, are you accepting PM's?

Okay, so sister has 1st and 2nd degree burns, they sent her home to follow up with her primary doctor in 2 days. She says she's changing from heating pads to hot water bottles!

The phone is just dinging and dinging off the hook today. Monday is the worst day for phone calls, and Friday is the slowest day of the week. Wish every day was Friday!!

Why did my therapist have to go all ADD on me today!!!!!!!

I mention a book on a topic she's interested in and suddenly amidst a bunch of judgement and advice about someone else in my family... more than half the session's gone as she follows the damn squirrel away from the forest that she can't see for the squirrel.

I'm paying for a redo in an hour.

The pred withdrawal and exacerbated PTSD has me thinking for the first time I might know how a strung out junkie feels on day one of sober...

and I want my T. Sigh... at least, I think I do. Hopefully I do want her and not an idealized version I've conjured that I'll never get, ha.

Wrinkle in Time. Just let the session get good enough that I'm willing to share it with her. She offered to read it to me, but we were already too far off track for me to take in something so precious. Someone please just knock me unconscious w/a brick.

Sorry Leah. Maybe it's some solar storm because my T was less than insightful today. It pretty well sucked

I agree - just not showing up is not good form. I didn't know if you were going to cancel or not. Good luck tomorrow.

My sister just called and my mother is in the ER. She lost feeling on her left side. They are starting the treatment for stroke. Dad is pretty shaken up.

Things like that really do affect people. I believe anyway. I hope that's what it was anyway.

That so sucks when t's get off track like that. One time mine did that - she decided to read something to me that was supposed to be related but she read the wrong damn chapter and wasted half my session on it!!!!! At least she sorta made up for it by texting me afterwards that she had made a mistake and said "I meant this" in a really few words. There was another time when i still saw her in person and she got distracted watching a butterfly outside the window and I had to pull her attention back and that was a bit annoying too. Sigh but I guess if they don't make mistakes every now and again we can forget they are human too. I dunno. Hope the reading of AWIT goes really well.

Okay. Some updates on my mom. This all started after 5PM with losing sensation in her face, then arm, then left side. She has mobility, and they are rating this very low on the stroke scale which is great. They start TPA treatment which hopefully will reverse any damage. But my sister texted me, "Her mouth is still working!" LOL. That's a good sign. It will be a few hours before we know much more.

Dad was perfect getting her to the ER so quickly, but I'm sure he's shaken up. They are 85 and 81 but have been in remarkably excellent health. They've been married almost 63 years now.

It looks, hopefully, like this was a minor event. Lots of people praying right now.

Glad your dad got her to the ER quickly. From what I understand, the sooner they can identify the stroke, the better the outcome. Wishing your mom a full recovery!!!

Thanks. Yes, TPA has to be administered within 3 hours of the onset of symptoms, so Dad did a great job getting her in quickly.

One more day of this. Two of my childhood friends "from the block" came to the funeral home today - that was beyond awesome. Somehow i just knew they would come. It was like the 1950's all over again.

Another really great thing i saw was my other aunt being entirely evil to her two year old great grand daughter - and i could see EXACTLY how my mother must have bullied and frightened me. Just hateful.

Chris - i hope your mom's alright. Thats great if shes talking - if thats what your sister means by, her mouth is moving. My mother wouldnt let her luncheon guests call the paramedics for like fifteen minutes.

My mom is know to be a big talker, so apparently that hasn't let up in the least. Her main problem left is some numbness. I'll get more details tomorrow. They've moved her into ICU and she has her own full-time neuro-nurse. Dad is doing better now.
Thanks for this!
