Yes, group counseling and classes generally should indeed involve appropriate sharing with other students. However, sharing with other students is entirely different from undertaking counseling with a professor.
My suggestion if you are interested is to look at the code of ethics for whatever specific profession you are training for. In the code that I am most familiar with, counseling of students by their professors is specifically forbidden. Your mileage may vary. |
