I found this video very inspiring:

Thanks for sharing. I read his book on this. It works for what it says, small hurts. I found limitations for me personally the section on guilt. This is where therapy would help, but the book aids until I could get more complex help. It is like breaking a bone. You need a doctor, but until you can get a doctor you can use first aid to help.

This was very much one of the major goals my therapist worked diligently with me on over the years. Becoming self-aware and actively using the skills and strategies to support my mental wellness had to become a daily habit, as important as taking care of myself physically. This is where many of those behavioral skills such as CBT/DBT/ REBT/mindfulness came to use long-term. Yes, I know CBT is bad word in some of your books as only useful for short-term problems, but in actuality, those kinds of skills, used regularly and internalized to the point that they become a matter of habit and personal being can be completely life changing. My T didn't focus on one modality though; he used a combination of very practical behavioral approaches (not CBT alone) that made sense to me and my needs, and I am emotionally very "hygenic" these days
