Jeans and hoodies mostly.

She is so pretty and well put together it makes me self -conscious.
Thanks for this!

Eh, whatever I feel like that day. I dress casually to work and I dress the same to go see her. I'm pregnant now so I care even less because I just need to be comfortable.

I always look put together when I go to therapy because I always look put together period. I usually wear dresses even in winter, or skinny jeans. I have to say that I do put a lot of thought in my therapy clothing because I wouldn't want to look like a mess and because I go to work afterwards. But like I said, appearance is important to me and I choose my clothes carefully.

My therapist has commented on it once and it made me furious because she assumed the fact that I take care of my appearance means I'm not doing so bad. It's about control for me.
Thanks for this!

I put "other" because those labels don't mean much to me. Jeans is not casual wear for me - it's what I always wear, to work, at home, to therapy, to choir practice... in every situation that doesn't have a dress code. Since I go straight from T to work I'll wear a Tshirt, shirt or sweater depending on the time of year. A couple of times I've worn a statement tshirt specifically for the appointment, but T doesn't notice so that was a waste of time. I don't use makeup.

The only thing I think about is what socks to wear, because I have to leave my shoes outside T's office. Not that I wear different socks to T than to other places, but I make extra sure that there isn't a hole in them.

Btw, is "jammy bottoms" = pyjama bottoms?

Isn't that the definition of casual wear? Honest question, I'm not from an English speaking country.

Neither am I, that's why I'm not comfortable with these labels (actually it's because I don't know anything about clothing and never notice what other people wear. It's like face blindness, but for clothes.)

I'm another one who doesn't wear the same thing twice, and has shopping issues...
I deliberately wore a dress that I'd worn before ( about six months before) and T didn't comment! Maybe she didn't notice!

I go from work now but I wear the same sort of things in work and out, usually a dress and leggings, or nice top and smart trousers.

I also can't wait fir autumn/winter, I love dressing at that time of year.

T dresses quite similarly, but she often wears the same dress/top two sessions running! Sometimes I wonder if she does it to make a point....I'm sure she gets dressed in the morning with me in mind
Thanks for this!

God, all the effort we put into having a t notice or not notice certain things... meanwhile, they probably havent got a clue the story in our heads.

I have shopping issues also. And it's funny. I was actually talking to my t about the plaid collared button shirts and I said I have about 20 of them maybe more with a pair of converse for each shirt. Next session he wore a plaid shirt. Hmmmmm trying to impress??? I also noticed he wears the same whacky socks I do. Seriously I thought I only wore those kind of socks.
Thanks for this!

Lol my problem is I am a compulsive shopper. But yeah I don't like wearing the same thing twice. T is always eyeing my sneakers I think he has a sneaker fetish. Or he's like I've never seen her wear the same sneaker. Lol maybe one day I should go in there with one black converse and the white one on the other side with a black and white plaid shirt. That would be funny.

Since I have a fear of germs I play with antibacterial wipes. Lol when I go into t's office I wipe his chair down with the wipe, put it in a Baggie and get a new one. When I leave my hands are like prunes. Lol

Casual. I wear some nice jeans and a top. I think I look a bit plain. I own nice and beautiful clothing, but if I would wear that I'm afraid people will notice me more. So I wear clothes in which I don't stand out. I like autumn and winter more, I dress better then because I like the clothing more. I don't like to show my bare arms or legs.
I've never worn anthing that showed my bare legs. T has beautiful legs, compared to her legs, my legs are so ugly.
A few weeks ago I wore a sleeveless top for the first time. T had noticed that.
My T is so beautiful, so I try not to look to ugly. I do my hair, I wear a bit of make-up. My T is a size 36 and I'm two sizes bigger than her I feel always so fat. I try to dress in a way that you don't see how fat I'm really am.

My T dresses the same as me, casual, usually jeans. Though her tops are a lot more nicer than mine. She often wears clothing I have seen before. Once she wore the same top on 3 Wednesdays in a row. She even wears clothing I've seen her wear two years ago. I kind of like that. It do makes me wonder if she likes shopping and how her closet looks like.
Thanks for this!

I have no idea what I wore yesterday - let alone at the last therapist appointment.

My old pdoc made everyone leave their shoes outside and I was so sock-conscious! I asked her about it once and she said even in the winter a lot if people don't even wear socks!

When I first started with T, I was always dressed in dress pants and sweaters because I would go after work. One day I stopped by my house and changed into lounge pants and a t-shirt on my way to therapy. First thing T said was, "Didn't work today?" I felt so judged.

I also play with my jewelry or a hair tie. Calms my anxiety a little bit.

Spent the day in bed yesterday, except for going to see my therapist, thought about going in my PJs, but showered and got dressed, part of me wanted to go "as is" so she could see how bad I was feeling, but just couldn't do it.

Yes, in US-speak (though you could spell it "jammie"). Increasingly popular public wear over here.

It's more like stuff you would wear around the house or on errands on your days off. Comfortable clothing that's still publicly presentable.

Maybe this Wikipedia entry will help.

Around the house I'm naked most of the time... (: No complaints from my H.

So people just go outside in their jammie bottoms? Their real pyjama. Not that fashion trend where clothing looks like pyjama's, but their sleep pyjama?

I haven't seen that here. People wear sweatpants in public, but pyjama's.

So glad I made your day! I actually wear normal clothes, but I feel like I am wearing an imaginary beautiful wedding gown, because I feel like my session is like my wedding day. I mean it as in, I really look forward to seeing my T who I love very much.

Under the invisible gown I am wearing my best clean T shirt and jeans. I usually don't pay attention to looking good, but for my T I would put in the effort to make my hair perfect, and wear my favorite shirt which I save for the sessions only to avoid stains.
Thanks for this!
