I too, think it is super sad and terrible the way she treated you, and your letter is incredibly well thought out and said!! I'd really feel a relief after writing and sending!!

It's very articulate and well written.

I just want to caution you on 1 item--you mentioned that before the termination session, you've never shown that type of behavior around her before (eg, slammed door). I think it's an understandable reaction to what happened, and is normal anger, but at the same time, she can say that the display of behavior uncharacteristic of you scared her (especially if it was dissociative in nature), thus the reason she refused further contact with you.

Good luck! I support anyone filing a complaint after unjustly being harmed by a therapist. It's unbelievable what some get away with.

Very well said and organized. I had a friend tell me that I should report my ex-T for the way in which she treated me and then terminated me. She also mentioned that it might be happening to others. I'm not sure I will but she will definitely get a letter from me. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I just realized you wrote this LAST year! Did you ever send it? I thought you decided not to.

I did send it. A modified version (my T and I fixed somethings). Filed Sept 11th last year. Sadly, I still haven't heard anything back. But I've heard it can take a year or longer for a decision. Every time I get a letter from a government agency, I get excited, but it's not it. I wish they would hurry up. But I guess it's a good sign it's taking so long. It wasn't just thrown out. I wonder if it's on ex-T's mind ever...worrying. I hope something comes of it. Maybe I might even get some more closure. Or maybe find out why she terminated. Idk. Once this is over, I can put her behind me. I'm still glad I did it. I didn't deserve to be treated that way.
