Therapy is a risk. Sometimes I worry about what I would do if the T suddenly died. That would be as bad as losing a family member, worse in some ways, because there would be no group context in which to grieve.

If you are at it for a while, the T can know you more deeply than almost anyone else in your life. That is a privileged position. One can only hope the T understands that and acts accordingly, not pulling the rug or changing things unilaterally without telling you.

You might feel like the T is going to get tired of you, but that's a worry, not something happening now, right? Voice the worry to the T. That can start a conversation that can be helpful. Good luck.

Thats interesting that you say that. My t has said before that its a privilege to work with me and hear my story. I think he believes that but I’m pretty low on his list of priorities. A therapist has nothing to lose, aside from money, compared to a client.

I agree with you 100%. I think it is cruel. I have been with many therapists and have endured many terminations and each time I think you have to be sort of sadistic to be a therapist. I couldn't do it because I would be too emotionally involved plus I don't like to see people hurt.
