Kind of interesting. Takes awhile to get through.

I took it. I'm not as "emotionally intelligent" as I thought I was.

It didn't give me the right choices - once it got past the first part of the test and into the pictures of people and situations it was awful because I thought all the options were screwy.
And when I saw the results - my response was I don't suck at it as much as some people seem to think.

Shocker, I failed. Barely, though!

Do what I did - grade yourself on a curve

It was depressing for me as well…28%. I mean, I knew I was going to fail, but geez. And their little blurb was:
Quote:
I'm just confused as to how someone is supposed to just look at someone's face and know what they're feeling without any verbal cues or situation to predict the emotions from. ETA: I tried more identifying emotions by just looking at pictures and seem to do average (I had to look at a different test so I wouldn't have to completely retake this one). I just don't notice them in real life I guess. Last edited by Anonymous50006; Nov 03, 2015 at 01:44 AM. |

Snapshot Report
Emotional Identification, Perception, and Expression 72 You are reasonably skilled when it comes to the core ability of identifying, perceiving and expressing emotions in yourself and others. There is still, however, room for growth. Overall, your skills in this area of emotional intelligence aid you in the process of reading others, understanding how they feel, and effectively identifying your own emotions. These skills form the basis of your ability to relate to the emotions of others as well as well as your ability to understand yourself. Review the results below for further information on areas that could use further improvement.

75--not to shabby. Wish I knew the "correct answers to some of those questions--especially the facial expression ones. Also was this made for corporations--it kept asking questions about "the company." I found that odd.

So a 63 is a C then

I think it would depend on what the average high score is. I would guess that even people who are healthy and relatively emotionally intelligent would still engage in some behaviors that are not that "emotionally intelligent." I'd like to know what T's score on this test.

Okay, I quit after the third question. There are way too many ways the statements can be interpreted - I could say 'true' to one way and 'false' to another. Not a good test, in my opinion.

I made a 58. I found both the questions and selection of answers depressing.

I took the test while I was at work, so can I blame my score on rushing through the answers?

Well, the former/future professor in me sees anything under 60% as a failure. So you're OK.
