I don't know how long it will take to help you and I can't say if you'll get hurt more in the process. The whole thing could be a failure and you might walk away with all the same problems you came with.
I would consider that entirely appropriate and the sign of a T who intends to proceed with integrity and transparency. And it would likely stimulate meaningful discussion about expectations and outcomes. With most of the Ts I have seen, we just starting "doing therapy" right away without any foundation rooted in reality.

Yep. When my T cut me off and left me to lay in my pit of hell, it was done in secrecy and silence. She certainly did not solicit feedback from me, nor did anyone else. So statistically and in larger context it was a non-event.

I wish there was some kind of client training or something prior to starting therapy wherein you learn how to leave your feelings for your t in their office instead of schlepping them around with you 24-7...
