My therapist forgets NOTHING. Which is comforting, and sometimes a bit freaky, and sometimes downright annoying

I expect her to remember deep stuff.
Don't expect her to remember casual names, places, events. Although she would remember names I had brought up ages afo.. surprises me.

Mine remembers everything. She doesn't take notes in front of me.

Thanks for all your answers! It seems like it's normal for my T to remember the amount that she does. It's a good point that some people said about how the longer I see her and the better we get to know each other, the more she'll remember. I find it interesting too how some therapists don't take any notes. Mine takes some, and when we're talking about more serious stuff she takes more.

Mine remembers the main things about me and remembers my ex name and also my children, he gets small details wrong like my daughters scholarship (she didn't get one, she was admitted under the schoold academic excellence plan) He remembers details of abuse and abusers and that is all i expect from him.

I've had 4 Ts. The first one remembered nothing which surprised me because she was always taking notes. The second and third one only really remembered major things. Which I was fine with. My current T who I've been seeing for a little over two months remembers a lot. A lot more than what I would have expected. She forgets peoples names and ages of people I've talked about sometimes, but she remembers stuff about me that I find important. I might help that I also see her twice a week a too.
