I΄m considering placing a certain someone on Ignore. (not anyone here on the Couch!) This person's threads really bother me and make me angry. Is it weird to Ignore someone who hasn't really done anything to me specifically?
If you Ignore someone, you can't see their threads anymore, right?

You can't see their individual posts but the threads are still visible.

Oh. That kind of ruins the purpose, because it's this person's threads that are bothering me. This person rarely/never posts in other threads, anyway.

Thanks for explaining.

I worked for WilTel (which unfortunately got bought out by WorldCom) for 14 years, until I got laid off during the Bernie Ebbers scandal in 2002. That was the longest I ever worked at one place and I held several different positions over the years. Since then, I temped for awhile and then worked for 2 other companies before current job. I haven't stayed anywhere longer than 5 years, I think I'm afraid to invest that much of my life in any one company anymore lest the same thing happen again. I guess that's why I've been getting itchy feet lately where I work now, and it's only been a little over 3 years.... I'm feeling like it's time to go again....

Go if you think it'd be better, but don't go if it's only fear motivating you. (At least, that's what CBT taught me - that fear is never a good reason to (not) do something)

You all talking about waffles and I don't have waffles and I AM NOW VERY HUNGRY. BAH!

As for the ignore function, while the thread shows up, I find that because I can't see the individual posts, it serves a "good enough" function. I click on it and I'm like "Oh, I have no idea what's going on here. TO THE COUCH!"

Did I mention I'm hungry? I also need coffee. And to clean the kitchen. And to reduce the humidity in my house. And to figure out if we're going to do something fun today.

Problems with the latter: it's 15 degrees Fahrenheit outside and it's the weekend before Christmas. All indoorsy things center around retail in some form which means mobs of people around. O.O

Finally the sun is back. It has been so grey here that I almost think I am living in Seattle or hell.

Family = Anxiety
Anxiety = Stress
Stress = Being sick
Being sick while having to be with stressful family is the worst.

Gah! runs to car to meet atat for the couch road trip of 2015...

I'm telling you , life gets SO much better when you ditch the abusive FOO. On Xmas I go horseback riding the cookies and hot drinks with my wife and a couple super close friends.Then open gifts with friends. Then have game night with friends and lots of dogs and usually my only alcoholic drink
Of the year. Its a great time!!

Morning/afternoon/evening(whichever your preference) everyone! How's it going? I'm very excited to move on to new endeavors after today, my last day at Panera. The only sad part to leaving Panera, I'll miss a lot of very good people. Anyway, all is well here.

Very cold in my house. Got some little cleaning done now lazing on my very comfortable couch (literally AND figuratively) such a great thing to do on a Saturday. We're going to be elbow deep in laundry this weekend. I'm sick of looking at it!

Does anyone here play Dragon Age? I want to make a Dragon Age Inquisition joke but those tend to fall flat when no one knows what you're talking about...

I'm home doing laundry (I have a mountain of it too!!) Was out for a couple hours this morning doing our volunteer trash-pickup thingy with work peeps. There were only 3 of us today, me and one teammate and she brought her nephew. But we collected 3 big bags of trash and a bunch of fallen-down signs, so I feel good about what we accomplished anyway. We had the sign dedication (saying that our company cleans that stretch of road) awhile back, so now we're asked to do only one hour a month to maintain it, but we try to do a little more than that. It's just been hard to get people to participate lately, I guess because of the holidays I dunno. I've honestly come to enjoy it, it's one of those things you can do pretty much without having to think about it, so your mind is free to work on whatever it wants to work on and I dig that!!

happy saturday couchies!
Thanks for this!

I'm not sure what I'm doing for Christmas this year, other than working 4 hours in the morning (6-10am). Can't beat the money, I'll get straight time for 8 hours (holiday pay) plus time and a half for the 4 hours I'm working so I'll make an extra almost hundred bucks that day, and then we work 8 hours on New Years Day and get paid double time and a half (8 hours holiday pay plus 8 hours at time and a half) so yeah. I'm working both holidays!! Not that I have a choice on Jan 1, everyone is required to work that day. All of January, there is no vacation time allowed and they're predicting a lot of overtime this year. Not sure how I'll work in t, but we'll figure it out....

If only you could ignore keywords, like posts with "waffle" in them!

I'm staying at a Super 8 tonight. That means a breakfast waffle, or as much as I can eat of one.
Thanks for this!

I'm passing through Chicago tomorrow. If you hurry you can make it!

I'm getting sick of my own company, already.
