One has tap water and a Keurig, the other offers water or coffee. I drink coffee at the Keurig place and bring my own water to the other. Water from home (well) tastes better than city water. I absolutely have to have something to drink. Meds make my mouth dry; there's no way I could go an hour.

Maybe it's different in different areas? Like, if you're in the southwest, where everyone offers you water at the drop of a hat, it's more common there?

No takers on the tea question? Boooo. There should be a "what's with therapists and...?" thread.
I'm in the south west. None of my Ts have ever offered something to drink...

My t always has water by my chair, she commented one time that I never drink it. I replied, if there was vodka there I would have no trouble downing that. But how bizarre to leave something for some and to just assume we will drink it.

None. One did ask if I wanted water when she was getting herself a water from the water dispenser.
I usually have a drink and go to the loo beforehand. Only times I've taken a drink in are when I'm nervous and have a hot chocolate, or I took a frappe in once after I had my tonsils out.

I go to a hospital outpatient clinic, so nothing. I bring my own water bottle, though I don't drink in session.

I've been tempted to have an alcoholic drink before I go in, many times, to try and relax.

My therapist offers water and tea. He pokes a little fun at me for always refusing, which I strongly dislike - I just have an extra sensitive bladder and if I have a drink I have to go immediately so that's why I don't drink in therapy. I really, really wish he offered coffee - I may just give in to that temptation! Maybe hot chocolate too.

My Tuts out a glass of fizzy water for me and her. I sometimes drink it, more often I want it but can't work out how to move the relevant limbs to get it

I wish she offered tea. I love tea.
Once she had a coffee, and apologised and explained it had medication in it (yeah, right) but didn't drink it anyway

No beverages offered and I don't miss it. I'm usually so focused on the discussion and on observing my Ts and my reactions that anything else would just be a distraction during the 45 mins. I don't even like to drink or eat at work meetings for a similar reason unless they run quite long.

My therapist is always drinking tea (I see her in the morning, I assume that's what she drinks for breakfast) but she has never offered me neither water nor tea or coffee.
I wish she did, it would make things more cozy (and I would get to know which kind of tea she drinks!)
Consequently I'm a bit envious at all the people here who get offered beverages by their therapist.

She doesn't offer anything but the landlord peddles cookies like they're made with crack during the holidays.

None of the T's I've had over the years ever offered anything. Ex-T used to always drink something during session. Mornings it was coffee (in a funny mug I gave her) and diet soda in the afternoons.
I try not to drink anything before or during. I don't trust my aging bladder and worry that I'd have to make a bathroom run half way through the session!

I would probably spill it on myself when trying to deploy my wooden stake and silver bullet.

Don't think I trust myself with a hot drink in session either. Maybe this is the reason why she never asks.

She often has a cup of coffee from the hospital cafeteria. I'm her first appointment, and sometimes she'll have almonds or something in a baggy, and she always offer some and I always say no. I suck on a Halls when I first go in because I have bad breath paranoia.

What beverages does your therapist offer you during session, if any?

Water. Probably from the tap. I'm sure he could scrounge up coffee if I wanted it but it's office coffee and knowing how cheap the clinic is... hahahaha.

What do you wish they offered?

Wine. Sparkling water would be okay in lieu of that...

What do they drink themselves?

He often has a bottle of Coke Zero or diet Coke or Coke from McDonald's (according to him, they have the right combo of fizz and syrup. I thought it hilarious when he went on and on about it).

My T used to ask me if I want water. But I always said no. First it was beause I was a bit self con/// about drinking in front of her. And then it just became a habit to say no. And she doesn't ask me anymore, because I always say no.
She usually has a glas of water in my sessions.

I wish she would offer me tea. She does offer some clients tea. I've seen a box with teabags on the side table and I saw her bring one or two cups which clearly has been used for tea to the kitchen.
I don't know why she has never offered me tea. It has always been water.

In the winter a hot chocolate would be nice. Or fresh mint tea.
Thanks for this!

My T constantly drinks very fancy tea during our sessions. The other day she was telling me all about her tea which as some special kind of chai with coconut milk and something else. And I just thought "you know, if you didn't bring enough for everyone...." It sounded really good

Therapists offer beverages?

Do you go to therapy on the rich side of town? LOL. Dozens of therapists over the years and none have offered beverages.
