I think itīs a fine thing to do to care about your T but as I know my T has friends for example, I know itīs only in my head that me caring about her would matter to her. Itīs only me wanting it to be that way, in reality I know she doesnīt expect me to care and she wouldnīt appreciate if I showed her I care.

Yes, I do care about my T, in many different ways. First, I love her/him for the things that s/he gives me (a safe place, understanding, empathy, etc.). I care about her/him as a human being who demonstrates, more often than not, that s/he cares about me and how the stress of therapy is affecting me physically. There are additional reasons that I care for my T, but they are embedded in the similarities of our lives and not for disclosure.

Yes. More than I'd like to admit.

Of course I care about my T. If something happens to her then I have to start all over with someone else and start from scratch. I've already had to do that WAYYYY too many times.

I have what I know is a defensive “I don’t care about her” attitude because of being hurt by previous therapists whom I did care about, like any other acquaintance. I could change my attitude to my current T but feel it’s not in my best interest to do so. We had a discussion about that a few weeks ago.

As my therapist I cared for her way to much. Now that we are friends I care for her like a second layer friend. She definitely knows more about the real me than anyone else, and has never held that against me, nor have I ever felt a power difference in our friendship.
