I did see that article, Stop. Thanks. My problem is that with our new cellular plan, we have unlimited data, but cannot hook the computer up to the phone to get internet service. So we only have internet on the laptops at work with our network there, or if we find an open network. I don't use open networks ever with my work computer, only the baby laptop that I never put passwords or sensitive material on.

I read this way too fast and wondered "Why am I selling Apple tablets?"
Thanks for this!

What are you looking to do with the mobile device? Consumption and email and reading only - then the kindle is good (emails and reading docs) but if you want to actually create or edit word documents - I have not found the kindle to be all that conducive to it.

Instead of a sim card - have you looked into a mobile hotspot device? OR a used or refurbished ipad? You can get ipad 4s or even 1st generation ipad airs at some pretty good prices right now.

One reason my future ex-husband is my future ex-husband is that we had a similar agreement and he persistently refused to honor it.

I would like to be able to read email on it, but I also want to actually do some work on it on vacations. I will call and ask about a mobile hotspot, and I'm headed off to another site to check out refurbished ipads now. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for this!

Umm...I think I just had a mind-blowing realization that this is actually possible in relationships.....hadn't occurred to me all this while that it could ever be done!

[Also trying to fill the Couch up but the above's for real ]

Truly feeling like an alien outsider right now. I realized I have been operating under some erroneous assumptions about what the rest of the world privately thinks or feels, and my responses to others so often are just 'off' apparently.

Sorry to be serious there for a second. I have not been doing well. On a happy note ... ummm.... OH, my puppy is adorable and the older dog is really liking her now. The youngest cat loves the pup also, and has been wrestling around with her.

I feel I am always so off from everyone else. So much so I feel like I'm on the wrong planet because these people are odd.

IF it helps - there is room here on mars for both of us.

I have had good luck with ipads off of ebay (not the lowest price and from reputable resellers) as well as Apple itself.
But really a chrome book may be something to consider as well.
