Ok.

I have a hard time getting to the psych doc I was seeing, and because of this I missed three appointments. She closed my case without even a phone call. I totally understand why, since if I dont show she might not get paid.

I really really really need someone who I can relate to, someone who when I just cant leave the house due to stress I can call and have a telephone appointment with. Someone who understands while i try very hard I get very scared very easily and also have a tend to sabotage unconciously.

I would also love to find someone I can email. Its so much easier to write out than to say in person. Except I dont have a printer.

Does this type of psych doc exist? Or should I be looking for psychoanalysts or what?

I just want someone who understands I just CANT trust right away, but will still give me a swift kick in the *** when I need it.

So I guess I am asking for tolerance and flexibility. Is that too much to ask for someone looking for a good doc?

Are you looking for someone to prescribe meds, or someone to do therapy?

I know there are T's who do therapy online--some even primarily online--but haven't heard the same about pdocs.

I'm sorry I don't really know your story because of being so new. Was stress the reason you missed the 3 appointments? Do you have agoraphobia?

Cheri,

yes, when I am stressed I do suffer bouts of agorophobia. I am also PTSD, BPD, and DID. SO I have a whole lot on my plate to deal with.

I am looking for someone who can do both if possible.

I am comfortable with having a psych doc to do my prescriptions once in a while and having a regular therapist for everything else.

I hope you find someone however, it is hard to help someone if they can't make their appointments. I am wondering if your community has a program for helping someone in the community. Some states have a program called Community Support Program (CSP). I know someone who has their medication brought to their door (she was involuntarily commited to the medication drop program for not taking medication). I suspect they might could connect you with a support individual to do home visits and assist or find assistance for you in other areas. If you are in the US, I would try your county's Health and Human Services. I'd certainly look around for some extra assistance with getting to your appointments because Pdocs tend to have so many of us that repeated missed appointments will cause them to drop your case. What would you need to get to your appointments? Could you have a neighbor, family member or friend stop by and help you get to your appointment work? What holds you back from going? I wonder if there is a way to get appointments at a closer place where you don't have to be out in the open as long might help.
