I am a total fidgeter! But I don't try to control it in T's office, I just let it express itself there whereas "outside" I might try to control it. I usually help myself to a bottle of water from the fridge when I am in T's office. Then while I am talking, I will kind of squeeze the bottle repeatedly and it makes this popping sound. I am sure it is totally annoying. But it communicates to T my nervous energy, so I let it happen. In the winter, I often wore a scarf to sessions, and I would play with this frequently. When I have a session where I cry, I will take a kleenex to wipe my eyes and then wad it in a little ball and shred it. Oh, yes, I have many ways to fidget... I am just glad the couch I sit on has no buttons to pick off.

I love the couch discussion. I was kind of confused on that one. I can see now Pink why the 'couch' would be something to work towards rather than lay down on right away.
I'd probably giggle the first time. My T doesn't have that sort of couch. He has a comfy leather couch which suits me fine. I do wonder what the other 'couch' would be like for me...
