So today a psychologist I visited for some time before being forced to take a break said that there is no such thing as talk therapy, when I said that I wanted some. Then she assumed I want to talk because I lack attention from others. I'm disappointed in her because she was absent two times in a row, when she made me an appointment. And the third time she basically refused to help.

I'd quit her immediately and go find me an other one. This T is not a good one. You deserve a good T.

I guess it also depends what type of therapy it is?

There are some therapies that aren't actually "talk based" but rather based on "body work" -- like Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing, and some include talking but aren't the traditional talk based ones like psychoanalysis or psychodynamics but more so focused on working/healing through emotional relation and feeling like Right Brain-Right Brain Therapy....so maybe thats what she meant?

But from what you said its probably best to find another one that isn't disappointing you.
Thanks for this!

Yes! I was really anxious for about a week about Global Warming(problems sleeping etc.) and confessed to her. She said: "There is no Global Warming yet." To be fair it was the last straw, it was the thing that made me lose all of respect to her. I thought of hitting her with something heavy(I'm joking, of course, but I was\is quite mad at her).I was dumped by her before and missed her, but not now.I'm never coming back to her.

The thing is I'm afraid she is right that there is no talk therapy for depression where I live(city/maybe country.) There are psychotherapists who just prescribe you drugs and ask to come in like a month and there are psychologists who are trained to deal with relationship problems, some insecurities, etc(she was one of them). She may be right that depression isn't treated with talk therapy in my country.

Nevertheless, I came to her to make something called psycho-diagnostics( I don't know what it is or how to say it in English). I was recommended a psychotherapist who refused to treat me(she said I have depression) until I get her the aforementioned diagnostics and papers from neurologist and some other doctors. So I spent last three weeks coming everyday to local hospital and waiting in endless queues. Apparently psycho-diagnostics is made in only one place in my city, a state-owned mental health institution. I came there and was offered hospitalization. They said they would share no information with the therapist who sent me on this epic journey(sarcasm). They were very friendly and maybe I should accept the hospitalization offer(it's only few hours per day actually, not a full-day stay). When I mention that I read about therapy in western sources, they say something like "We have different treatment methods here", while not naming those methods themselves. I'm really confused. Also people from different institutions just disagree to cooperate, demand written instructions while writing none themselves, and try to send me somewhere else all the time. It's infuriating. Also there is a sentiment that if I don't go to a therapist assigned to me according to the area I live in and try to chose somebody fitting and caring for me, that there must be something wrong with me and I just want attention.

I once visited a very nice therapist who seemed rather competent and used "European treatment methods"(whatever that is), but she said that I'm too poor to afford her. I miss her.

That sounds really tough. I hadn't realised it could all be so different. Sorry you are having to face that when all you want is a bit of caring help.
Thanks for this!

wow, that is rough. I wonder why they reject talk therapy as a treatment option so widely. That also doesn't make sense that depression is so difficult to get help for. I would suggest looking online for additional resources.
