Honestly I have 0 motivation and energy to go to my session tomorrow + I think i'm coming down with a bad cold. This past week hasnt been the easiest for me either, I kept seeing things that triggered my health anxiety, and I dont want to go to therapy and talk about them and feel even worse afterwards. I emailed my T about 5-10 minutes ago saying that I had a rough week and that i'm sick, but now I'm just thinking, was that the right thing to do? It's not like I can email and ask her to forget my request and keep the session because I dont want to do that anyways.

What do you guys think? I just felt like I needed a break so to speak.

Nothing wrong with taking a break. Unless, is there something you are avoiding talking about with T? Was last session rough/emotional?
Thanks for this!

The last session wasnt too bad because we didnt really talk about what was bothering me, but this week was sort of rough and I really had no drive or energy talk about it tomorrow.

Why worry if you did something "wrong"? You didn't feel like going, so you cancelled well in advance. That's your call. "Wrong" has nothing to do with it.

If, however, you think you are cancelling sessions because you're avoiding something, it's still not wrong, but it's probably worth dealing with.

Personally, I believe you should go, whether you feel like it or not. You've got a lot going on in your head - go talk about it. Cancelling sessions is a recurring issue for you.

Again, my opinion is to go no matter how you feel.

I agree you should try to see if you can un-cancel. I know you were upset with yourself last week that you didn't talk about what was causing you anxiety, so I don't think skipping the appointment will help reduce the anxiety. You could always call or e-mail your T and say you're feeling better and would still like the appointment if possible.

I really didnt have the energy to go today so I skipped out. My next session is next week so I just have to go to that one then. I know it wasnt the best thing to do but it felt like it was the right thing to do, if that makes any sense.
