ok i struggled with this all yesterday and through the night. Yesterday my T told me he wasn't comfortable with being someone's only support. Last night I took this to mean that i should stop trying to be human and tell people how I feel.

I'm not sure I think that's a very appropriate thing for a T to say. Surely lots of Ts are the only support for many of their clients?
Thanks for this!

Agreed. Or if your T thinks that you are relying on him/her too much, this is a subject that should be delved into gently and slowly. Whenever I worry that I am contacting my T too much, she always tells me that it is natural for me to want to reach out and make a connection when i am struggling. she knows that i don't have a lot of support outside of therapy (though it is growing, thanks to her).
Thanks for this!

BunYip.. For a t to say that I think is a bit inappropriate and insensitive. It is fairly. I am sorry he said that to you.

Again I bow to the couch wisdom. I will put it aside and chalk it up to his personal issues. hopeully i can put it aside. though i did think he was making a comment on my behaviour.

Yeah...a close friend or family member could say that legitimately imo, but not someone who gets paid to be supportive.
Thanks for this!

Just to add, after that comment he said I feel I am being mean to you. Then I went off about everything he might would have touch of meanness.

The idea of a grocery store clinic blows my mind a little bit. So you can see a ?pharmacist in a grocery store?

Many grocery stores have pharmacies. But now I guess maybe they have physician assistants? They will take your temp and prescribe. Tho I've only gotten advice, nothing more.
