I don't recall her exact quote when I first asked about it but she said something like "I just liked it".

Despite feeling like crud, I had a really special evening. Met my department for dinner at our favorite Italian place. On my way there, my future daughter-in-law called me and asked me to go with her to get her wedding dress altered. Not a request that can be refused. Her dress is very classic and lovely. Had to be shortened about 4 inches (she is vertically challenged). I am glad I was able to be there for her.

(I wrote the poem about the pic in t's office. I'm haunting myself, now. Ha. Kind of.)
It doesn't want to come off of my phone. I emailed it to myself, but the email is not arriving. Hmm. eta: i was going to pm it to you, healed, but I don't know how to do that from my phone and the email's still not here. Apparently it is haunted and it wants to stay on my phone! I just gave in to the urge to try sleeping under the bed. Now I know where junior cat has his man-cave. No Girls Allowed.

I cannot imagine sleeping in the dust and pet hair that is under my bed.

Desperation for sleep is the mother of doing crazy stuff.
Also, I have a cleaning service. |

I hope it works.
I have always wanted to find like a wave motion bed or adult sized automatic rocking bed (not massage sort but rocking) to help put me to sleep. Or to win the lottery and just pay someone to drive me around for 8 hours each night while I sleep.

I'm sorry, that sucks. Is there any chance of convincing her to try setting a limit?

I woke up to have a tick burrowing into the back of my thigh and a dog who had destroyed part of my couch (again, after eating through the new slipcover). The joys of pet ownership.

.. and yet again I didn't tell my pdoc something I want (need?) to tell him. It feels sort of dishonest, that my whole treatment team - and my parents - know this and not him. Because I do really like and trust my pdoc. I don't want him to think otherwise.
And it's not really something you can say by email. |

I'm sorry BY. I hate it when I remember things that are said in session differently from what t purports to remember. It doesn't happen often, but it sucks when it does.

Sorry Bread. Hope you'll be able to tell him the next time you see him. I don't think it's actually dishonest though, when you want to tell him something but can't, that's not really the same thing as purposely not telling in order to try to make someone feel bad. It's early and I don't know if I explained my thinking on this correctly. Feel free to ignore me if I don't make any sense!

You do make some sense.
![]() Maybe I'll email him Friday morning. Emailing him now wouldn't feel right: I just spoke to him on the phone, and the working day/office hours is almost finished, meaning he might have to rush, or might "take it home with him", or might not even read the email until Friday (as tomorrow is his day off). Or he might call me back to discuss it (as in, Oh, Breadfish didn't tell this during our phone appointment half an hour ago, let's call her and "finish the appiontment"!). Emailing tomorrow wouldn't feel right, as it's his day off and he never checks his email on his days off, so the email would "sit" in his inbox for a day before he reads it.. doesn't feel right. Emailing him Friday morning, though.. it would give him a whole day to read it, and a whole day (well, as much of a day is left after he reads it) to respond, and I think the chance of him calling me to discuss it is far smaller (almost negligent). I think I'll do that. |

So there's a new 'position' being created at work within my department, I'm interested in it because it would get me off the phones and I'd be doing something that I enjoy doing (it's a Communication Specialist type thing, writing and sending out important communications to our center) the only reason I haven't applied yet is that it's not an actual position/job, it's just a different duty kind of thing - an increase in responsibilities but with no pay increase, no title change, and I'd lose the opportunity for bonus. What it would be good for is my internal resume, if an actual position comes available for something like this. I am torn on whether I should go for it or not. I think I probably will, because I can always ask if I get an interview if there is a potential for it becoming an actual higher-paying position in the future... I don't know. I'm torn.... maybe I'll see if I can meet with my old supervisor about it I bet he'll have some good advice for me!
Have a good day/night couchies!! |

I have no real advice to give, besides the standard sentences such as "Do what you like best" or "Follow your heart". So I'll shut up and just say that I hope talking it over with your old supervisor will help!

Speaking of artwork, my T had this weird sculpture/ceramic thing on the top of a shelf. I always stared at it, thinking how ugly it was and kind of stupid and not really "art" -- like something you just get at a department store and stick in a spot because someone else said you should. Anyway, I discussed it with him in the past and said it looked like a really ugly cowbell to me. He thought it looked like a headless person in robes. Really? You think it looks like a headless person and you have it on a shelf where emotionally disturbed people will be staring at it??? He laughed and said his wife picked it out.
Recently, it was bugging me again and I mentioned how I didn't like it. He said he didn't like it either. I asked why he left it up there, then. Why not just take it down? He looked at me like I had grown another head. He said for some reason it had never occurred to him to take it down once his wife put it there. I pointed out it is HIS office, not hers, regardless of how it works in their house. He laughed. However, when I went to his office this week, it was gone. He even pointed out to me that he had taken it down, somewhat proudly. Yay, T. good for you! LOL. |
