My T once took out the battery and hung the clock back up on the wall. (Before inviting me back to his office.) It took me a while to notice. We had a good laugh once I did. I am obsessed with leaving on time. I don't want to be annoying and pushy.

It doesn't distract me, but I do like to know the time so it would annoy me if I couldn't see the clock. I like to time my own sessions bc I know how much time a certain topic will likely need.

Do most people not wear watches? I would think a clock would be less distracting than checking one's watch all the time - which I do if there is no clock. Or even one could set one's cell phone to vibrate at different intervals.

I don't wear a watch. The clock doesn't distract me, though. I glance at it now and then. Lately, if I'm within 5-15 minutes of the end and wanting to leave, I leave. She doesn't say anything about it.

I used to wear a watch but the bands irritate my skin now. I rely on my cell phone for the time, as I think many people do these days. The clock in T's office is in my direct vision! There is also one closer to me that my T looks at occasionally.

I am surprised that so many responses are about watching the clock so you can end early or just on time. I cherish every single minute with T and never in 6 years did I want to leave early! I hate to leave my session! I've felt the same about my former Ts too. It's hard to disconnect from the T. Always.

No, but I am distracted by seeing my T watching at her watch.
Thanks for this!

I always wore a watch so I knew the time. Where I sat, I could not see her clock. I had the urge in the past to toss it in the trash because the ticking drove me nuts.
Thanks for this!
