I guess for me, therapy took a new face when things started to occur in therapy of a sexual nature - how can I deal with all this confusion and hurt?

I am so, so sorry that happened to you in the context in which you were seeking help. You may find some useful information under the thread "Red Flags in Therapy".

Welcome to PC,

You must feel a lot of pain, I am glad you are reaching out to us.
Some of the members have been discussing this in a current thread about the "red flags" of therapy or warning signs.
How long ago did that happen and are you seeing a T know for it? I do know whatever happened was never your fault, it was the T who should have keep the boundries to protect you. I have a friend who this has happen too, and it was so devastating to her in so many ways. I understand if you aren't ready to talk about this, but I hope we can help you or least be a friend who listens.

Sleeping Sacred Rose, there is another forum here on PC that you may also find helpful. It is called "Survivors of Abuse." You can find support and information there from others who have suffered abuse.
PsychCentral Survivors of Abuse Forum

Good luck.

Have you been able to find help dealing with issue? I'm sure it may be hard to trust another in the profession, but do you have clergy or a trusted friend or family member to turn to?

Again, I am so sorry this happened to you, and I hope you find the healing you deserve.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
