Evening couch.

Well on my way out of my interview this morning, I got a call from a CVS up the road from the one I was working in tonight asking if I was available to come in ASAP until 7. I said I was working at the other (insert city) CVS at 4:30, so I could help them out till 4. They said they would take it because something was better than nothing. So, I picked up 4.5 extra hours.

I sat forever waiting for my interview. They were running about 45 minutes behind. Gee whiz. Oh well.

I got a call back from the school with the math intervention position offering me an interview at 4pm tomorrow. I was supposed to see pdoc at 3:45, but I decided to take the interview and ask to reschedule pdoc.

I call pdoc's office and say I need to reschedule and ask if he has anything next week because I am free every afternoon. Receptionist tells me that we can not push my appointment out that far because I am a mandatory 4 weeks. She asked why I was rescheduling. I explained why, so she said she could squeeze me in at 1:30. So I now will be seeing pdoc at 1:30 tomorrow. I hate being labelled as non-compliant...it makes scheduling appointments difficult as I "must" come in at a certain interval of time. I guess I did it to myself with having to go on injections for not taking my meds. But would one week really matter? Oh well, I can still go to my interview...so I guess everything is okay now.

Well, I better go mapquest directions between schools tomorrow for my interviews. Then get to bed. Can't have bags under my eyes from lack of sleep at my interviews.

Night, couch.

There is actually a squirrel in the forest somewhere....

ETA : found it!

" Your money worries are over, for Squirrel will teach you how to manage your resources. With Squirrel power within you, you will find it natural and easy to set aside money for those future projects and to provide for yourself during slower times from the money you saved during flush times. Your financial acuity will increase as you find yourself developing new habits.

But Squirrel is no stranger to fun. You will find you can handle money easily and then spend the remainder of your daytime hours scampering up a tree and chirping to your fellows. Squirrel knows how to balance enjoyment of the lovely summer’s day with doing what needs to be done to provide for the coming winter.

Squirrel will infuse you with this spirit of the seasons, helping you to enjoy each one, providing amply for yourself and your loved ones no matter what life brings.

Squirrel also brings the gifts of persistence, resourcefulness and tenacity. When he sees what he wants, he finds a way to get it.

What a relief it will be to have these strengths come easily to you, just by breathing in Squirrel energy and putting an awareness before you of different ways to live, enjoying today as fully as possible, while also setting aside for tomorrow."

So just curious. Did anyone else know that giraffes were silent? That they had no voice?

Was curious also if anyone listened to them humming and what you thought.

Just curious.

I've had giraffes on my mind this week. They have always amazed me and it's always seemed to me that they don't belong here. In a sad kind of way. They don't look like or resemble any other animal, that I can think of, on this earth.

They are such a contradiction to my mind. They are so very tall, lanky and knobby kneed. To look at them you would think that they are lumber some and kind of klutzy for their body structure. But, to me, they are the most graceful animals when they run and there is such a very sweet tenderness in their eyes, especially the little ones with their sweet faces and beautiful wide eyes. I've seen pictures of the momma's bending their beautiful, graceful necks down and nuzzling the little newborns and licking them right on top of the head. To me, it's so much love in those pictures.

It's silent though. It's always hurt my heart that giraffes don't have a voice. I've always heard that. It was really bothering me and I decided to really look into it. Well, I discovered that giraffes are not completely silent.

Giraffes hum!! They only hum at night though. This is totally amazing me and there is something very mysterious about it.

Here's a site I found that has a recording of giraffes humming at night.

Giraffes Caught Humming in the Midnight Hour

I may be very simple minded or easily entertained, but this just completely captivates me.

To me they sound almost like whales recorded under water.

My T has always reminded me of a giraffe but she doesn't hum. At least not during my session!

Sounds like a cow mooing into a bass trombone.

Encounters with wild animals have always been some of the most amazing moments I've had. Years ago a deer, a buck with a full rack of antlers, jumped out of the woods in front of my t and I when we were on a walk for our session. It was unworldly but very fascinating. Poor animal did not expect the two of us out walking!!
Thanks for this!

Nope. Goes back further.

Eta: or maybe not...the Dr. Who script has a similar line but it's not the same. Low budget scifi film it is!
