T came in wearing bronze colored shoes today and said one of her other clients said only a therapist would wear those shoes. She says ts have a wacky sense of style. I never experienced that and I didn't think she looked that wacky. Just curious if anyone thinks there t has a wacky sense of style.

Sparky used to wear crazy novelty ties like chili peppers, hearts, saxophones etc. he hasn't seemed to wear as many oddball ties towards the end. He seemed to dress better in colors that suited him better

Not that I have noticed. But I don't pay much attention to what they wear.

My person had an oncologist who dressed bizarrely - sort of like someone messed up her garanimals.

my T wears button down plaid shirts and shorts or pants. he wears flip flops or shoes depending on the weather. he also wears dad sweaters, lol. the only wacky thing is he likes to mismatch his socks, and he is very proud of that

No, my T is fairly boring. Khaki pants, button-down shirt, and a children's charity tie.

No. In fact, I wish they had any kind of sense of style. No. 3 came the closest, but it was always only black and white clothes. No. 2 - gah. I want to take her shopping some days.

I have noticed a good number of women in late middle-age (as many therapists are) tend to start dressing the way they always wanted to dress but couldn't because of various reasons. Like the poem says, "When I am old, I shall wear purple."

My T is a middle aged female and dresses reasonably well although just about everyone that I know gets pedicures and paints their toenails in the summer and she doesn't. On the other hand, she really knows how to wear scarves a bunch of different ways and does a really great job with them. She wears lots of silver dangling earrings. Overall, I'd give her a B+ in fashion.

Since my own sense of style is "Whatever is on top of the mountain of clothes", I honestly have no idea. I don't know how to tell or to find out what a person's sense of style may be, and I do not understand the expressions used to describe style. People wear clothes, afaiac, and my T wears trousers and a shirt or sweater, just like I do.

No, my T wears rather clothes which are always black or black and grey. She pretty much always wears dresses or skirts - I have only seen her wear pants once in the 8 months I have been seeing her. She often wears a nice necklace or scarf to add something interesting to her outfit. Also, she always wears the same black heels except for one time that she wore flats.

Socks with sandals, retro 50s-60s style glasses, and khakis that have drawstrings at the ankles.

I am so glad you posted this because I was starting to feel a bit left out. She dresses smartly but not too formal and they always seem clean. That is about as far as I can go. I like the way she seems to present herself, it seems right to me. I, however, seem to only wear the same trainer, jeans and either a Cardigan or a fleece every time, with about 3 different t shirts. As long as both me and my clothes are clean and I feel relatively comfortable then I don't go in for it more than that. I wish I could but I don't get it, never have done. I have no brain for style or fashion unfortunately.

My T has a great fashion sense. I can't describe it because I know nothing about fashion...just enough to know if a person is fashionable or not.

Mine has a very definite style- Maybe not wacky, exactly, but it is very distinctive. He puts a lot of thought into what he wears. i think he is much more visually oriented than most people - his office could be in a magazine spread, he drives a flashy car, and he's a really sharp dresser.

I can't quite relate to this aspect of him as I tend to value utility over style, but I appreciate our differences as part of what makes the world interesting.

If what the professional wears does not impede a good working relationship, the style may be a curiosity but my focus is on achieving a good result.

My current (male) therapist wears business causal: dress pants with a nice shirt and in colder weather a jacket. Nothing too fancy or eccentric. He is in a great shape and quite handsome so he always looks good in his clothes IMO. Previous T (also male) was older and did not always show a sense for how to match pieces of clothing but never displayed anything that I would have considered a fashion violation.

I don't think I would care much if the therapist did not have a good dress style (given that their appearance is not unkempt) but it is certainly pleasant to stare at a smart looking T during my therapy hour. To me, it adds to their professionalism and shows they care about how they perform their job.

Not at all. My therapist is very fashionable. She's always elegant and put together, on top of being very attractive. I don't have ET but I'm a gay woman and I'm not blind: I'm very appreciative of beauty and fashion in women.
Thanks for this!

My T seems to shop at Lands End or LL Bean. She generally looks nice. My AT wears things that I think are too form fitting - tops and skirts or dresses. And hats, she likes hats. I found it odd recently when she wore a black dress that was too tight and short, and had on a brown floppy wide-brimmed straw hat.

I don't like it when either one wears "open" shoes like sandals. I have a thing about naked feet in the workplace/professional setting. Most people's feet are not meant for public viewing. But, that's my issue...

That sounds terrible! Although if female I'm getting this Sarandon-in-The-Hunger image.

Mine's decent. Smart trousers, shirts, smartish shoes, although I prefer lace up brogues on a man to slip ons. The occasional slightly hippie accessory, but only one at a time.

Also @speckofdust - I agree. Open-toed shoes in the workplace are weird.

She sometimes wears a knitted rainbow zip-up hoodie. Usually she dresses professionally except for that hoodie. In the summer months she wears a lot of dresses.
