Lived in Indiana most of my life. Moved to the High Desert in California for 12 years. Moved back to Indiana. Soooo grateful to see cornfields...because it reminds me that I am not in Barstow, California.

Love- cornfields!
Hate- the desert!

I used to have nightmares in Barstow that I was stuck on the Moon. Sand, sand, sand. Uck!! One of the good things about the desert where I lived was the magnificent starry night sky. But I was intimidated by tarantulas, vinegaroons, scorpions, black widow spiders, true to life Gangs! to venture out at night much.

Prefer - the South, memphis bbq, and herding dogs

Do not prefer - the Northeast, south carolina bbq, terriers

SD -- your comment about NC bbq reminded me of this piece.

I promise I have no skin in the game, being vegetarian and all.

I do wish someone would devote as much attention to mapping moonshine though.
Thanks for this!

I meant south carolina with their sauce - that yellow sauce is an abomination.
It was an interesting article. To me, true bbq is dry rubbed pulled slow smoked pork butt on a plain hamburger bun with cole slaw and peppery vinegar sauce on top.

I've started growing herbs for this very reason. I got a tiny sage plant about 5 years ago and it's huge now.
