My first - okay, second - thought was "hey, he'll still be eligible for the Nobel Prize next year."

Cohen >> Dylan for me.
Thanks for this!

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking as well -- if any musician's a poet, it's Cohen.

I saw KD Lang perform this live and it was one of the most spectacular things I've ever heard. It was a private corporate event with a couple thousand people in Minneapolis. And she performed another song with Elvis Costello. .

Im confused as to why she is asking if she was wrong or unfair? Is she being kind of coy? Thats not exactly the right word. Maybe, "understating" the situation? Cuz like, if my husband was leaving the top off the toothpaste, and now hes kinda complaining to ME that his friend's spouse is doing the same thing and what a horrible person the spouse is for doing that - well, my husband might find that our toothpaste top has suddenly gone missing. That might make me feel better.

Ah had to read back a few pages.

SD you made me chuckle. Me, a conservative? No. But I imagine an atheist conservative might something look something like a giraffe with fins. But I promise not to discuss politics. Just defending my honor

I know you are not - just saying it would be relatively easy to find a conservative therapist in your new state.

I'm a little unclear too: how can the first person in the scenario turn out to be wrong about the wrongness of the behavior? If the perpetrator also thinks it's wrong?

Fun fact, growly: I know or have met twice as many atheist conservatives as I have liberal ones (and I'm not talking just 2 vs. 1). It goes against the popular stereotype, but they very much exist, and tend to be quite devoted to their atheism.
Thanks for this!

I took it mean something like this: My ex used to verbally and psychologiaclly abuse me but didn't think anything of it. But when his father did it to his mother his ather was a "bastard". He could not see that he was doing the same thing. I may be very wrong but that how I interpreted it.
Thanks for this!

Sorry. Being transparent, if it's ok. I could never have time with my mom to talk. My dad always thought we were "plotting and transpiring" against him. My youngest son is having issues with his ankle. He doesn't feel comfortable with his dad and sharing what's going on with him. We were talking and the h walked into the kitchen and my son shut down. The h automatically assumes we are talking about something that is private from him. Major trigger.

Just wanted to explain.

Hugs! Can't do much about your H thinking you and your son is keeping things from him. Some people are like that and think everyone should be comfortable talking with them. Sometimes they don't think maybe they aren't a safe person with certain topics
Thanks for this!

Thank you QM. That came out in the moment. Your words are true and I thank you for them.

((Hug)) if you need to hear it - there's nothing wrong or bad in keeping some things private from your spouse

Hugs to all who need them.

Just got back from ER. Long story, short: tooth abscess.

Pain and freakishly swollen face. Scared me. Saw physician assistant early yesterday. She diagnosed tooth infection. Gave large dose amoxicillin.

Went to sleep last night & woke at 1 am this morning to terribly swollen, red, shiny face on left side and my pain med did not alleviate pain.

ER changed antibiotic to clindamycin...and gave stronger pain med. waiting for pain med to kick in.

Need to take dog to groomer at 9. Expecting house cleaner at 10. Must be done. Gads.

It's all fun and games until someone puts an eye out. <g>
The fun continues. Can't get into dentist until Tuesday. They are closed Fridays.
