I can't find any local therapists so I may increase the distance in the search and was wondering how long you all travel to see your therapist?
Thanks for this!

Therapist was about 10 miles; time-wise about 20 minutes assuming I didn't hit a traffic jam.

Pdoc was about 25 miles; time-wise about 40-60 minutes depending on traffic.

40 minutes on a good traffic day (mostly freeway driving). An hour to hour and a half on a bad traffic day.

Pdoc 25-30 minutes. T is the same but I go before/after work so it's only 5 minutes from work.

About an hour or so. Most of the time I don't mind the drive.

I started seeing my T when they were working for a non-profit. This organization - which is nothing more than a bureaucracy run by out-of-touch baby boomers, I might add - was my best option at the time based on intake availability and income.

She ended up parting ways with the organization and setting up her own practice down the street.

Thanks for the responses! I'm trying to find a new T and may have to open up my driving parameters.

It takes me 25 minutes with my bike. I ride my bike everywhere as I don't have a car. Or I take public transport. But there's no bus going from my place to my therapist's. I don't mind biking, I like the exercise.

15 to 20 minutes, depending on if I take the free way or not.

About 50 minutes. The place where my therapist works now is actually close enough to where I live and I could ideally get there in 15-20 minutes but there is heavy traffic and I have to take two buses.

It's 10-15 minutes for me, but I sometimes take a long way home to think about the session. You might find you actually like a longer drive to collect your thoughts on the way and process on the way home... for me, I like a bit of transition.

I'm about 25 minutes away. I wouldn't mind driving further if need be. I find I need time to calm myself down before session by way of singing to good music on the car ride in, and, reflecting upon what came up in session on the car ride home. Good luck with your search!

About 3 miles. But the first one said she had clients who would come in from about 2 hours away to see her.
I have no idea if she was being truthful or not.

About 20-25 miles, it takes anywhere from 30-50 minutes depending on the time of day and traffic.

I work at a therapy office, so I had to rule that out and I also didn't want to go to either our direct competitors or people we refer to often. I did still try to find something closer, but I never heard back from the closer Ts. I heard back very quickly from the office I currently go to and they made a great impression, so I decided to give them a try.
