I want to repeatedly bang my head into a wall.
I don't want to go this evening to a 'temp' pdoc.
I'm frustrated, scared, and sad.
Can't stop crying.
Don't want to be at work.
Don't want to be anywhere.

Well, just found out that one of my freelancing contracts has dried up. Hoping I can get more work from the same publisher (science journal copy-editing)--I'm still working on one of their other accounts (and have been for 5 years). Might be able to get more work from that one. But frustrating to lose a source of income shortly before the holidays...

Thanks! Or maybe this will prompt me to actually go out and look for a FT job...I know my H would prefer that. I just like the flexibility of freelance with having a young daughter.

It may be worth looking into both PT and FT jobs, you never know what is out there.
Thanks for this!

Post-swim carbo loading...as one of the Couch's weird junk food tasters, I'm pleased to report that pumpkin spice cheesecake Twinkies are actually quite good. Much better than normal Twinkies, which I detest.
Thanks for this!

It was good until my goggles broke and I had to stop at only 1350m.

(Eta: okay, I realize how ridiculous that sounds, but that's less than half my typical distance.)
Thanks for this!

PT would really be my ideal right now, and in the field I got my master's in a couple years ago (this is somewhat related, but not really). Spent lots of time looking for FT job in field after getting master's, sent out tons of applications, got only one interview and was their second choice. So decided to just stick with the freelance for a bit. Applying here and there. I just have the problem of being both overqualified (master's) and underqualified (no real experience in field except a bit of volunteer stuff).

I was just making some hard-boiled eggs to take for lunch when I upended half a saucepan of scalding water on my left foot. Wow, that stings.

Had an email from my mother earlier letting me know she closed on the sale of her property (like 30 acres) and has the check in her hand finally. Been a long process. I almost replied to her email "Great! Now you can pay for some of my therapy that you caused me to have to get! When can I expect a check?"

Is that wrong?

Not according to my ex-psychiatrist. So take that for what it's worth!

Is that wrong. Thats the wrong person asking if stg is wrong. Remember the genius piano player movie with the mean dad, with with the genius played by that english actor, who also played the pirate?

Also nytimes this past wkend had a really excellent article about girls done wrong, then about a million other women wrote in. I saw my own stories so many times. So much wasted energy, for centuries.
